What bugs me is that WEDH is in HD for the NYC DMA on D*! How is it the CT DMA gets it but no PBS HD for NYC yet? I see even LA's PBS is about to go live.

I had been trying to get this one fixed through Tribune. They contacted the programming people at WRNN who told them that Dish should not be giving any info on this channel as it is not available on satellite or cable. Only OTA. The idiots could not understand the way our OTA tuners work...

Looks like you did but this must be an error as the description calls it HD.

Even more confusing is that WVIA is not even on real channel 41 anymore. It is now on 49. It moved there after their transmitter collapsed and WNEP gave their old transmitter to WVIA after WNEP moved from 49 to channel 50.

So for New York State people, wouldn't you say that in the end the plan is for them to be all on Eastern Arc? That's the part that makes sense to me. Put all of these channels on the 77° slot and be done with it.

Who me Ice? I am just saying that they should just be set up for the long run at the get go. Otherwise many people will be looking for upgrades later. Besides, doesn't Dish give new subs ViP receivers regardless of HD or SD TV's to have them ready for the future?

This I know. I get them OTA but when I saw the WVIA stuff, I rescanned for locals thinking I was missing one. WVIA4. There is no such thing.

A few strange things here. 9251 is the main LiL WVIA. That's good but the EPG info should be numbered 1, 2 and 3. BTW 1 and 2 are PBS and 3 is Create. WOLF2 and 3 are sub channels of WOLF but show WSWB (WB) and WQMY (MY) respectively. This one is RTV. Now thats a heck of alot of sub...

If you look at the description in the guide (before selecting the channel), it looks like we will be able to see it 3/15 through 3/20 even though if you go to those dates nothing is showing yet. It says "Making of blah, blah, blah.."

OK so I am not alone. The installers left a few hours ago. My similar upgrade was free as well. Due to snow on the roof and my 2 dishes being up there, they left them behind along with the LNB's.

I suppose this is why I had no trouble upgrading to EA for free. But why Scott, do you suppose others are being charged? I did not have to fight for this at all. All I did was be very clear about everything I learned here.

This is the $99,000.00 question. If we call Dish will they set us up with the 1000.4 dish for free now that we really do need it to see all the new HD channels? I am a 2 dish HD sub in the NYC DMA so I need 61.5 for local HD.

14320 - WVIA1 - EchoStar7 119W TP 01 Spotbeam 13 renamed to WVIA2 (NA) This is one of the channels I was discussing in the OTA channel guide thread. WVIA 2 is now fixed. Why does this say (NA)?
