Hmm... from the Operations Manager at WGXA: There is nothing we are doing that prohibits Dish from giving you HD.

I was hoping for the space for more amateur radio antennas! We don't watch a LOT of OTA, but for the Macon market... geez, what a waste. WMGT's NBC quality is horrible, as they've never managed to balance it with the My sub channel properly... so basically, Macon got CBS HD... May have...

Guess the outside antenna stays up... WGXAD is ABC, and that's where the race from Bristol is on Saturday night. Oh, and WPGA is independent.

I'm always ready to get happy... heh... They've had so many HD locals uplinked for 8 weeks or so, it's just been surprising to see so few (relatively) made available.

The main thing that'd make me happy would be Macon, GA HD locals...

Another week and no Macon HD locals... even though the installers had been told 6/30. Oh, well. They're uplinked, so maybe someday.

Nor Macon, GA.... ARGHHH! Though the local installers did get an email from the home office that said they'd be lighting up Macon, GA, locals in HD on 6/30... and I know that's not worth the electrons excited to send the message... Oddly, they put 'em on E*8. The local installers have had...

Great... putting the Macon, GA, locals on 77W. HD versions already uplinked at 77W. Already have a 722K, so I guess it's time to ditch the 510, get a 211 and 1000.4.

Nice... Macon, GA, locals in HD... at 77W. I'm on 129... I'm guessing 1000.2 dish. Dish Network says "sure, we can get you a dish pointed to 77W... for $95." Great. Oh, well, OTA works well, being only 18 miles from the transmitters.

Nobody'll care about WPGA, except a few die hards loving their Knight Rider reruns. WGXA-DT2 isn't up yet, and WGXA-DT isn't viewable OTA here lately (both the TV tuner and 722k tuner have trouble with it... 722k didn't, but it does now). It'll be interesting to see the result of 2 HD...

Or even WGXAD Is the uplink scheduled for 1/1/10? The actual affiliation switch looks to be effective on Monday, 1/4/10, the beginning of the "broadcast week."

That's Lowell's story, and he's sticking to it (but it may not necessarily be the truth) WPGA-TV is already available via DISH in the Macon DMA, but is possibly under retrans consent... which opens the door to DISH dropping them come 1/1/10. That may be the reason for moving them to 110...
