Really for me ... after all is said and done ... the point is moot as we rarely watch CBS ... so we are fine with just OTA ... getting back Dish's version though does give us some recording flexibility if the OTA tuner is being used ... and we get the guide back!

$7 for one HD channel (two if you get east and west feeds) ... that is expensive. (How come its more than the normal $3.50?) If it is really $7 then Fisher knows, at least in my area, that very few people are not going to be coughing that up just to get CBS in HD, so by giving up SD, Fisher...

I could have swore that for Boise CBS was on satellite 129 on a smaller spot beam. The spot beam on 110 seems to be much larger. I wonder if this was part of the deal ... Edit: Nevermind ... this seems to be for the SD channel only. They are not doing the HD channel yet. At least the guide...

I think I read in another post that the spot beam is actually split between Alaska and Hawaii, so the spot beam map is only half right here.

So, what does this uplink do?

That the HD channels are not getting placed in the TurboHD packages ... :confused:

Except for locals and maybe free previews ... I have a feeling that things are going to be pretty quiet for a while.

I think Dish knows I am going to switch to TurboHD to save a few bucks once Viacom HD gets lit up ... they are milking me for as long as they can I guess ...

With Dish though ... "soon" is all relative ... so you could just say: "They are more than likely going to move to Ciel 2 spots soon." :D

Also 4 channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC) for the Boise Idaho area! While I was excited for Ciel 2 to come online, now it can not come online fast enough :love It is interesting though that CBS is marked where we lost CBS in December due to the contract dispute. Thankfully I do not watch much...
