I have the equivelant of the Sanyo Z2 LCD 720P pj. If you want to watch SD in native mode, try using the mode on your pj that lets the signal through unaltered. Almost all digital channels have lip sync issues at one time or other. I've seen it ever since I got Dish back in 97 and see it a lot with OTA channels.

Ditto. I tried that for awhile and found the best results on my pj to be 1080i for all channels even though my pj is 720p native.

I hope you were able to preview it before buying, I am highly susceptible to the rainbow effect so I went LCD. Otherwise, enjoy!

I wouldn't exactly call the Voom stb "the most advanced HD receiver". Quite the contrary, it leaves a lot to be desired, not nearly as good as my 4 year old Dish 6000 (in picture quality & timer functionality anyways).

With Voom, you can't. The best way is to pull up the guide and select your subchannel. If you hit the FAVS button, it starts with the OTA's, so it's not that big of a deal. My Dish 6000 lets me key in 00602 for channel 6 sub channel 2 directly.

This started with me too with 7.37 and I do not use DVI, just component. I also started getting that damned white pixel streak left over from viewing the menu and I never had that before.

TechCop, I record via S-Video and got the same thing a couple of times. I was watching the show live HD and recording SD and when I played back the recording, the picture stuttered horribly. Yes, a reset is the cure-all, fix-all for all electronic gear, not just Voom.

You could use a cheapo Rat Shack indoor antenna for towers that close, then you don't have to much around with your outdoor antenna. That or purchase an antenna rotor.

Voom is nothing but rerun after rerun and after having it for 10 months, there is nothing to watch. The movies on Cinema 10 are worthless, I've recorded maybe 20 movies over 10 months and watched maybe 2 live (except for MonstersHD, I've watched tons of those). They don't look very good live...
