UPDATE I Powercycled and it worked.

Again my STB downstairs only displayed 1 number and never again... like DarrellP said this is a cool feature, if it works!

Well i turned this one on my receiver and it worked only once.. it displayed my wife's cell in small white letters (you have no idea how cool of a feature this is, as i hate scrambling to my phone(s) to see who it is... and now it doesn't work anymore (I have rebooted the receiver)... Anyone...

Ah... good explanation, I guess I already knew these just confused by the DVD packaging, Anamorphic is "Enhanced for 16x9" and much better for widescreen TVs than "Letterbox Format" analog style transfer. Good link bbgman.

I can find many explanations for OAR vs Fullscreen, what the different dimensions are (Academy and Panavision formats), what I can't find an answer on and have always want to know is, what does "anamorphic" mean.. some of my DVDs say 2.35:1 This movie is presented in it's original format...

Once in a blue moon, (with the quietscreens) sometimes I switch channels back and forth, other times I turn the Voom box off (not reboot) and the surround sound receiver and turn them both back on, and they sound "resyncs".

Both of those movies are on Starz, actually only Starz(and I think Encore not 100% sure) have picture blackouts or frame drops. I watch Matchstick Men and Equilibrium on HBO/Showtime in its entirety and didn't have a single black screen. I also thought it was local, to my dish, but they upgraded...

Well I got it back, saw the rest of The good, The Bad, and the Ugly... great flic, such a classic, time to bring in some other great westerns like Fistful of Dollars.

Is this true it's close to 10am eastern time, was trying to watch the whole Good, Bad, The ugly movie for the 3rd attempt, and it blanks out, sat signal goes to 0.. CSR said Voom is down at her office as well.. is everyone experiencing this? :confused:

I had a power blackout yesterday morning, from then on my OTA EPG was wierd. It took until today in the morning before I had any EPG for OTA channels (although the Voom channel PG was up and running in 10-15 minutes).

Late last night, still no oTA, this morning my normal OTA PQ information came back.. wierd it took so long.

I've rebooted a third time just to make sure, I get all the PG back from Voom and some of the OTA, but the majority says "No Info" for my OTA... what gives? :confused:

No weather maps are full 4:3 on the SDTV, but the main channel is pillared AND letterboxed.

Ah, that could be it, because some of the subchannels, are SD only, or weather maps and they come in fine...I wish the remote had buttons on it to flip Crop/Letterbox on the fly now for this reason also.

WHat I want to know is, not stretch, on my SD TV I like to leave the WIdescreen option to letterbox. Problem is that my OTA SD for some reason have bars on the top and bottom as if it were HD widescreen (which they are not) and bars on the top and bottom. If I set the resolution to 480p...

Could be a problem with the box, polarity, or the LNB, call CS and tell them that.

Do you have VaVaVoom have you checked Starz?

NFL Voom HD is on the PG through Zap2it, I still see only Game of the Week, NFL Network made it seem like they'd have actual replayed games in HD...I think NFL Network doesn't have their act together either.
