I like it so far. The "Watch" button seems to be much better. No matter where I am at in the menus it goes back to the video, with the surf bar which dissapears on its own after a second. I also second all recommendations said above. Especially for transparency. One weird bug I found...

If they aren't then I lose about 80% faith in Voom. How could they release a new product that is worse then 6+ year old STBs on other providers? I almost feel like a beta tester with the features that this offers, and I fully understand why they haven't charged the originals for programming yet...

I talked to them today and the person I talked to was totally unaware of the SD problem on some of the channels. They tried having me restart the receiver, and using 480i as output, but it didn't go away. They escalated the problem.

Hmm... the box does stand out a bit if you have all black electronics.. but that's not much of a reason to put Voom down. One of the things I noticed was their commercials seem very well done. Great sound, and usually enjoyable. Now the promo channel, probably the most important...

for the first time I turned my box off today for 2 hours while watching a DVD. It froze as I turned it back on. That makes it 4 freezes now. 2 within the first hour, one within 9 hours, and now 4 within 30 hours. Think it could be my box having a problem? Also, is anyone else seeing these...

I agree... I would much rather it control the volume on my receiver then on my TV.

More memory I believe... which means less lockups... not 100% sure about that though.

Thanks... I've never used E*, so I'm not sure what their users are used to, but I know other D* users will probably feel the same way that I do about most of these issues. It really bothers me to see family struggle with it and get angry at it, when it shouldn't be as hard as it is. Not sure...

My problem with it is... with an exit button, nomatter where you are you press it and it brings you to watching TV with no menus. With the watch button, you press it in the installation setting menu, and it brings you back to the Voom button menu. Then you press it again it it brings you to...

Thanks. None of these are serious issues to me. Just things I noticed. I got all of this from only watching for a couple hours... I'm sure I will have more as I go on. :-) Should I email voom my recommendations also, or does this thread serve that purpose of getting suggestions/bugs noticed?

Exactly how I feel... I expected it to be at least on par with what others have to offer. But it seems like it's much less advanced then them. No need to re-invent the wheel by making it not so round.
