    Keep in mind that it isn't actually Voom who will be delivering the locals, but your local stations. So, you probably want to go to www.antennaweb.org to see if you can get locals at your home.

    I played around with those settings, and it was better for the locals, but I didn't feel like changing those options to fit whatever channel I was watching at that time. But, to answer the original question, yes, I would get another receiver even though the TV is only SD.

    Maybe he meant "squashed" and not "stretched". My only complaint on a regular TV is with the local chanels when they put the bars on the side for 4x3 programming. But, that isn't Voom's fault. The network is just sending the signal with the bars to fit a 16x9 screen.
