What is the BEST ATTIC Antenna??

Since it looks like all your channels are UHF (and high ones at that), have you tried the Silver Sensor? It usually does very well with uhf channels. I have the Channel Master 3000 in my attic, and I get all my locals except for channel 35.1 (frequency 11). So with that antenna in my attic, I...

What is the BEST ATTIC Antenna??

A really usefull bit of information that you left out is what channels these stations are on. Not the 3.1, 3.2 etc but the actual channels brodcast. For me: 3.1 is on channel 2 8.1 is on channel 7 13.1 is on channel 39 17.1 is on channel 19 35.1 is on channel 11 etc. You will find the actual...

    Minneapolis/St.Paul Voomers

Since almost everyone now has signal quality in the 90s, it is unclear as to the value of that number. I would call Voom and tell them that they should include the info regarding the "red button" for switching output modes. Something so obvious, and there is no mention of it in the manuals...

    Larger dish

I have a 30" dish. I was getting a signal quality of up to 89 and signal strength of 76 before the software upgrade. This morning, I did get the software upgrade and did a quick check of the signal quality and signal strength numbers. The signal quality was at 99 and the signal strength was at...

    Larger dish

My 30" dish was $70 including shipping. See post #10 in this thread for my procedure for getting it installed. It was really painless. I agree that it was worth the money and effort. I would be cancelling Voom if I still had the 18" dish. Every time it got cloudy, and here it happens a...

VOOM OTA Mapping Problems? (Channels listed are not as expected)

It was Voom that chose to use local "mapping" instead of scanning like every one else. It was Voom that chose to not allow self-installs. Do not make excuses for Voom. These are THEIR decisions.

    Larger dish

This is the 30 minute procedure that I did myself: 1. Disconnect power to Voom receiver. 2. Remove LNB from 18" dish (easy to do with phillips screwdriver and wrench) 3. Disconnect coax from LNB (easy with small wrench) 4. I stood under/behind dish/arm and made note of where the arm was...

    Larger dish

I was not even aware of the problems until I read the messages here and elsewhere.

    Larger dish

Wilt Hildenbrand from Voom responded to that post with this statement: "That's not even close to true--where does this come from. The system was/is designed, other than some heavy rain areas, for good performance with a peaked 18' dish. Let's not make up "facts" here. Thanks, Wilt" For me...
