What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

I just went on a Cox forum and found it is a free upgrade. Except for a $10 installation fee if you do the upgrade yourself.

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

They wouldn't give those boxes to people who just wanted HD programming. Cox would give to who needed dvr and hd. I'm sure they have a seperate box (3250HD) just for HD only just as voom will.

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

Here is the cost of the "Cox Cable that is more expensive" Ken F. Cox HD Cable=Cox Standard service $39.95, Digital Cable (prices vary depending on package choices) HD Converter rental $9.00. It is up to you to decide if you want to add Discovery HD $5.95 per month or HBO and SHO. ESPNHD...

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

...And Voom tends to be higher than other dbs providers. Actually it's (DVR service is $9.95 a month, this is the functionality of DVR. Plus the HD Converter rental of $9.00). Not $18.95 just for the DVR. So it does look like it is possile to have hd dvr for $9.

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

Just found this too about a cable hd dvr rental.... HD-DVR Facts vs Myth HD-DVR will be available to Cox customers on 4/20/04. The final test phases ran a little longer then we expected, but as some of you have mentioned in this forum, that happens sometimes when testing a new product or...

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

I heard that Dish Network is offering the HD dvr for a low $4.99 fee for signing up for HD programming $9. Then people have to agree to a contract for so long. Doesn't sound like a bad deal.

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

Because its toted as a new technology which it isn't. Edited post by moderator... Your theories are also flawed in cost estimates. Since the DVR won't be relased until the 3rd quarter.

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

What are you talking about? I already have Voom and an HDTV, and as long as you have the attitude that you will pay anything. They like people like you and will continue to raise you rate. People like me keep the rates down ;) .

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

I don't understand people saying voom won't make any money. As of now they charge more as it is with less service. If any non Voomer says different everyone jumps on them like savages. Not everyone here has the opinion that voom is the best thing since sliced bread. All you voomers know the...

What would you pay for VOOM DVR?

I don't buy into that technology costing that much. The only part that is expensive is that you need a bigger hard drive to record hd on to. Now you can buy a $200 gig hd for neerly nothing.

Voom announces intent to introduce a HD DVR in the summer

Isn't Voom plannining on adding firewire? If they do the RCA would be a good deal or some D-VHS player. I'm still counting on a DVR rental ;)

Voom announces intent to introduce a HD DVR in the summer

This also is an add on. It isn't including the STB that everyone already has. Is it really worth $1000???? LG is selling a STB with HD DVR for around $600 w/ a built in ATSC tuner.

Voom announces intent to introduce a HD DVR in the summer

Ken F $1000 DVR! Where do you buy your dvr's at? Directv and Dish give them away for free now! They have TIVO built into their receivers for FREE! For $1000 you could buy an HDTV.

Voom announces intent to introduce a HD DVR in the summer

That's what my cable company charges for a dvr. I'm not going to rent the receiver and dvr. That is stupid and too expensive. I figure we all are paying more than dish or directv now with half the content. Not counting the rental fee for the equipment and no PPV, and half the SD channel ( I...

Voom announces intent to introduce a HD DVR in the summer

Will everyone who rents the equipment be upgraded? Will equipment rental go up? Will it be a whole new box or an upgrade to the ones already out (please be a new box with no lockups, screen issues, and a good guide :) )?
