Tune in 27.700 MHz, SSTV CB!

There were debates whether FCC should had open up the whole 10 Meter ham band to Technicians class, due to a similarity to 6 Meter band plans. Unfortunately FCC chose smaller portions of 10 Meter for Technicians. It's been held up few years now to revisit this issue, since FCC bureaucracy is...

Tune in 27.700 MHz, SSTV CB!

Just out of curiosity to see what SSTV CB activity is like on so called free band on 27.700 MHz. Seems more diversity and fresh new pictures compared on 20 and 10 meter SSTV. Some ham guys keep sending same pictures over and over, gets tiring to say at least. It's a shame SSTV not legal on...

Did anyone get SSTV from ISS on 145.800 MHz?

The Russian were supposed to send SSTV on 12- 1 and 2, but no signal so far. Tech, problems or something came up? Never had a problem receiving their signals in the past. Is anyone else is picking up their signals?:hatsoff

New world of DATV on 2, 4, "UK only" 6, and 10 meters bands using HEVC codecs!

Here's the youtube video showing how DATV works! :) Just need to look for a really good software encoder that will handle MPEG4, HEVC or better codecs that will be use for narrow band DATV on longer wavelength bands, however our U.S. ham OPS, are stuck to 70 Cm and shorter wavelength band...

New world of DATV on 2, 4, "UK only" 6, and 10 meters bands using HEVC codecs!

Wow, now they are sending 576i 25 FPs using HEVC codes by sending at 333 KBs at + or - 150 KHz total bandwith!! The BATC"s forums is full of information on VHF low bands DATV transmissions. Now the big question is that legal in the USA to operate digital fast scan TV below 420 MHz band...

Can you send MSSTV on C4FM mode?

The reason I ask, can you send MMSSTV on C4FM "Fusion " instead of SSB or FM modes. Or even better pure digital SSTV in HD 1240x720p. This might be my future project as soon I get my new baby Yaesu FT-991A sometime this year! :) :hungry Is there any new ham radio SSTV software that handle HD...

SSTV from the ISS coming up!

Make very good sense of line of sight signal when the signal comes up from the West horizon, and when almost over the top of your vertical or direct over your vertical mag mount antenna and the swoop down to East horizon signal gets better before it's dips below Eastern horizon line of site...

Is anyone still using packet radio?

We have tons of digipeaters packet radio around the state of New Mexico. Very much alive and well, but the funny things, is I have yet to see any 9.6KBs other than 1.2 KBs digipeaters around in the Albuquerque's metro areas. :) :hungry
