    Receiving radio transponders on 105w

i get them on my Edision enigma2 receiver but I don't think I get them on my Amiko miniHDre. I suppose that maybe the Amiko chokes on the high number of services? Note that many (if not most) of those "radio channels" are empty

    New Motor!

I think DW is actually 5/6 FEC so requires 9.4dB, so that's even less of a margin. Definitely a difficult one. I lose it at the slightest rain or even with thick clouds.

    C band signal problems

if you take a picture of the Eiffel Tower and label it Tower of London, you might think it's the Tower of London, but it's still the Eiffel Tower and it's still in Paris... in other words, the satellite names in the receiver are only there to keep things organized. When you scan, the receiver...

    Receiver setup trouble

they should all be turned on as their voltage is what will control which polarity they will "see". Plus if it's an unpowered switch that's what actually powers the switch and the LNB(s)

Why Do I Need SNR for Unlocked TPs?

yes my Amiko miniHDre will do that - a blind scan will detect and display frequency and SR for very weak signals but it won't show any quality info unless it can lock. Very usefull when strugling to find a satellite. But until now the Enigma2 images that I have tried would list only what they...

    Attempt at 15w

last I checked 15W actually had hunderds of channels, the TuVes direct-to-home service from Latin America. Unfortunately only a few religious channels are ITC. Those transponders require a slightly stronger signal than VoA, so in case of marginal reception, they can be missed while VoA is coming...

EarthXTV is on 105W and a very good channel

    LNBF problem

I used the platic part of a generic Ku LNBF holder, and a piece of flat, stiff ABS plastic, bolted to an unused hole in the scalar (since it has holes for 3- or 4-arm setups) on the left is the Titanium C2-PLL, and for Ku I used a twin Inverto Black Premium. I'm in the process of building a...

    LNBF problem

not sure what X4 and S1 are (we usually refer to satellites by their orbital slots as the names keep changing) but doesn't really matter... These days most people use LNBFs (with voltage-controlled polarity) even for C-band. you can still find chinese-made C/Ku combos but they are of mediocre...

    Motorized KU band issue

most channels on 30W are FTA, just a few are scrambled, and most channels are in Spanish (like Cubavision) or Arabic. If you are getting many scrambled channels, and just a few (FranceInfo, France24, CNews) are ITC and in French, you might be on 34.5W

    C band setup

a splitter is just that, it splits the signal. But with satellite, you have 2 polarities (Horizontal and Vertical) that are controled by the voltage on the coax. The LNBF transmits whatever polarity the receiver is asking for. So if you put a splitter , there are 2 cases: - the splitter conducts...

    C band setup

not really. Not without major limitations and risking frying the receivers. but you can add a multiswitch, that would typicaly allow up to 4 receivers, with full functionality GEOSATpro 2x4 Multi-Switch for FTA Satellite

    New 1-metre Dish Installation

very nice! at 330ft, you might want to make sure you have solid copper core cable, not copper-clad steel Also, I'm sure the dish is not complaining about the view :)

Can a Digiwave DWD60T pull in FTA?

I respectfully disagree. I can get FTA on an 18" Dish 500. Is it good? No it's not. But it does work to some degree. A 24" dish will work, it just won't work well, and won't get everything and will not do well with thick clouds and rain. But it should have no problem pulling it the NHK mux on...

Best 2 Ku Band Sats for one fixed Ku dish?

I also agree.. PBS on 99W and DW and the NHK/CGTN/Loop mux on 103 Although CGTN documentary on 97W is alo kinda cool

I just fried my meter, didn't I? Time for a new one?

looks like it's gone from the Apple AppStore. I have it on my iPhone8 and love it. I just got an iPhone14 yesterday and restored my apps and that one can't be downloaded and is nowhere to be found on the appstore. Bummer. I know E2Remote Lite can also get signal quality and strength info, but...

Help with Diseqc Settings in Mio+4k

FYI, signal strength on the PBS mux at 12140 on 99W used to be very weak, but went up by about 4dB a few weeks ago, and is now quite easy to receive, so that might explain the different result. As for the horizontal problem, well I have to mention that I encountered a possibly similar problem...

Help with Diseqc Settings in Mio+4k

silly question... since it's a Mio+, tunerB is also DVB-s2 capable. What is its status? Did you disable it? Or is it also sonfigured for those same satellites? And when you try to tune in, what tuner is it showing that it's using? Could it be that you got everything plugged into tuner A and it's...

Help with Diseqc Settings in Mio+4k

that GeoSatPro switch is indeed a 1.1 switch. I have MIO4k and MIO+, ASC-1 a 1.1 GSP switch, and a 1.0 switch connected to port 1 of the 1.1 switch. I set the ports accordingly in the satellite setup, and set the order to 1.1, 1.0, tone. I also tried it with the 1.0 switch connected to other...

    PBS on 125

looks like maybe you're aiming a bit too far east, as you are also locking KBS on 123W. I noticed that the peak for 12180 is a bit further east than the peak for the other transponders. Montana PBS is still coming in for me, but at 6.9dB, about 1.4dB lower than yesterday's 8.3dB. But still...

Finding what Satellite I have the Dish presently

Not sure how I missed that one on 110W when I searched earlier on Lyngsat Electronmini, we look at the tables on lyngsat, first for the frequency that matches, then since those satellites have spotbeams, we look withing the transponders that use that frequency, we look for a beam that can be...

Finding what Satellite I have the Dish presently

Thanks for the info. I was not able to identify the one on the screenshot. a few things... - Now that we know that your LNBF setting was stilghly off, can you correct it to 9750/10600 and scan again? - can you give more examples of channels that scan in, with the frequency, polarity and SR...

Finding what Satellite I have the Dish presently

can you post a list of those channels that scan in, as well as the associated frequencies, polarity and SR? I'm think you're getting some Dish Network stuff, either from 119W or from 129W (or 121W if there's still anything there... not sure)

    New setup

Welcome to Satellite Guys! 30"is a bit small, particularly for Maine which is a bit on the edge of some footprints. It is doable but you might miss some of the more interesting channels, and lose the rest when there's heavy rain. If you can find a 36"or 1 meter dish that would be much better...
