Aligning motorized dish without Zenith sat

And I wonder why I am selling everything. My dishes track fine, but the forums just suck now adays. Not one person read the OP's post about aligning a C-band dish, you all went to Ku dishes, giving bad info. Learn to read instead of making you look like Albert Einstien.

Aligning motorized dish without Zenith sat

Guys start at post one, no wonder we are losing people. He clearly says a C-band dish motorized. Now let's help him. He does not have a true south sat at 82 he can retrieve on Cband closeted would be 87 west so we need to get him on that. He is a newbie and a good guy. This is like ham radio...

Aligning motorized dish without Zenith sat

Nick, get your dish a it's highest azimuth. The only Cband you are going to see close to you is is 87 west . I find the average clicks between to sats is about 15. So once you have the dish straight up move about 65 clicks to the west. Start blinblind scanning 87W west until you find it. Once...

    C Band and a 120cm dish... pointless?

I am with Primestar on this, especially with that dish. Hard to get a dish like that perfectly parobolic and even though you might, it is not go to get the now common s2 signals with higher FEC correction.

Polar Mount for a 1.8 meter Prodelin Offset Antenna

To make clear it is a polar mount, all it needs is a actuator and a controller and of course a 1.8 dish.

Polar Mount for a 1.8 meter Prodelin Offset Antenna

I have one of those mounts, never used it. Been in my basement for 6 years. It is massive, believe it uses a 5 inch pipe.

    What Happened to Everybody?

One problem is TV pretty much sucks anymore for me. Not much worth watching. I have sdr's and other listening devices. I turned my twelve footer into a collector with easy to swap antennas at the feed point for radio signals. My 10 footer is still for C-Band but do not play with it much. The 1.2...

    LNBF problem

Not sure of the sat destination, but thinking X4 was the old 74 west bird from many moons ago on a Digicypher receiver. Way old.

    Patient Channel 87w

Back in the 60's and 70's we were lucky to make it to the early sixties, were to you thing the social security timelines came from, they hoped we were all dead, now just keep uping the age since we cant pay you.

    Patient Channel 87w

Sure I am 60 plus, but I still smoke and drink, but I have a good life. I would hate to live to a hundred and never enjoyed a good meal, or waste my heartbeats running down the street, I am over 60 and am 6 foot 1 and weigh 195 lbs. My work keeps me that way. Enjoy life, we all will die eventually.

Maybe I am different, but I don't need to guess what I might have and don't want to know, one day I will just fall over, don't want to be a drug addict when I do it.

    RG-6 connectors

I agree PPC connectors with solid signal quad shield solid copper works fine. But PPC made for quad shield, tight is good and at 20 degrees it might be a tight fit to push on.

    RG-6 connectors

I use quad and have found if you a few minutes to unbraid the shield and fan it out a bit the connectors are much more manageable.

Win a 2 LNB Add On Bracket Bundle for Ku Dish w/Amiko LNB and Pansat 4x1 DiSEqC Switch!

I would like to enter also. If I can remember back far enough, I think a 1 meter fortec was my first Ku Dish. I now run a 10 foot perforated Unimesh with a ortho feed and a fixed 1.2 Andrews with the factory feed and two LNB's. It would be interesting seeing if I could get away with the LNBF's...
