    Press release from Intelsat's website

Not too sure how I feel about this, don't really like massive takeovers which lessen competition, since SES will now only not own the SES satellites, but also the Galaxy and Intelsat satellites. Probably my biggest concern is that when SES built and launched their new fleet due to the loss of...

Satellite Antenna Made From Umbrella & Emergency Blanket

I had a good laugh when he mentions his cats had chewed on the end of the umbrella, as it reminded me of the time many years ago when I was assembling one of my dishes inside the house and one of my cats tried to run off with a bolt in his mouth!

    Wayback Machine

Exactly! I have used it to clarify some of my notes I have made on my FTA doings. For example, mentioned a new channel, and didn't mention what satellite it was on, of course, I knew at the time, but not later on! Also interesting to check the old satellites and see all the great channels we...

Why Do I Need SNR for Unlocked TPs?

Just a quick note to say that the Montana PBS signal is back to its normal good level (they fed the gerbil!).

Why Do I Need SNR for Unlocked TPs?

Yes, it was gone all day yesterday, and can't remember whether it was there on Monday or not (I think it was, but not too sure, if may have disappeared in the evening). We had just cloudy weather yesterday, and today have been getting light drizzle/snow in the afternoon, so did notice it was...

Why Do I Need SNR for Unlocked TPs?

I assume most receivers give an indication of when a signal is close to being receivable (sometimes a jumping signal of zero to whatever, or a low signal with a lot of pixelation or just a black screen). I assume that the receiver is getting something from the signal, but not enough for video...

Why Do I Need SNR for Unlocked TPs?

Nice feature! As well, thanks for the confirmation that Montana PBS has a crap signal right now. Haven't been able to get it here for the last two days! Nice to know they haven't stopped broadcasting, just forgot to feed the gerbil running the power! LOL!

    What Happened to Everybody?

I agree with what others have said, and part of the problem is while C band still has some good channels that can be had, not everyone has a place for a C band dish. As well, in the past few years, whereas before a six or eight footer would have probably been sufficient, now you really need a...

    G-19?

Yeah, it's getting a bit cold to do much this year! Until then, you could leave it on 101W or re-point it to 103W (which, unfortunately will reach end of life next year) or try 117W, etc.

    G-19?

Shame. So close, yet so far, as they say. Can you move the dish at all? You shouldn't have to move it too far to bring it in since you can get 101W. Of course, depends on the size of the tree and where the interference is.

    G-19?

If the frequency of those channels is 12000 V 20000 (or so) then you are on 101W. if the frequency is 12144 V 20000 then you are on 103W. You are close, just have to move a bit more.

    AZ Bx Time Sync

Glad it worked! Like I said sometimes (rarely) it doesn't connect and have to wait a bit before trying again. Good luck finding your backup copies.

    AZ Bx Time Sync

In Auto Synchronize, Internet, use the green button to Edit URL, and with the remote type in: time.nist.gov That is the one I use, and works 99% of the time.

    Patient Channel 87w

LOL! Yes, but in the last few days they changed to add "This System Will Be Going Dark Within 10 Days" We shall see!

    Patient Channel 87w

Think they are leaving for good, this time! LOL!

    Patient Channel 87w

Yes, I saw that they are back up, have no idea what they are doing with the messages, LOL!

    Patient Channel 87w

Patient channel programming has stopped again, with a message similar to the last time, but with the added line that the "delivery method is moving to a new system". Wonder whether the satellite feed will be shut off on Friday (the 1st). Screen shot below:

    Patient Channel 87w

Don't know when they got rid of the screen shot I posted above, but Patient Channel is broadcasting again. Guess they aren't leaving satellite after all (though it did look like it from the screen shot).
  19. Keith Brannen

    Patient Channel 87w

That would be my assumption, as well. I did scan all the satellites I get, and haven't found it anywhere else.

    Patient Channel 87w

Looks like we are losing the Patient Channel from satellite. The channel has been at 87w (if not longer) since I first got into FTA back in 2006. The following screen shot I captured moments ago has been up for a couple of days, at least. Anyhow, it appears to me that the message is definitely...

    Reach TV (103w Ku) changes?

Changed back to Reach TV at noon EDT. Different, while it lasted!

    Reach TV (103w Ku) changes?

It's not any of the CW channels I get, they aren't showing the golf, it is CW Sports, which I think is an app? Not too sure about it, perhaps those in the US will know.

    Reach TV (103w Ku) changes?

Turned on Reach TV (12145 V 19996) on 103w and was surprised to see something very different from their usual showings. Currently, what is on the channel is CW Sports showing LIV golf live. Don't have any idea whether this is a change in channels, or programming, or what.

    PBS on 125

And LPB on 87W has boosted their signal in the last couple of days (and is not the lowest signal on the satellite, for a change) so is coming in full time on my 75e instead of only in the late afternoon/evening.
