    Find Channels

Lyngsat is good. Haven't been on there for awhile, but you can seeye the footprints of the satellites. I'm pretty sure they don't have anything for zip codes through. Just look for the one that cover the US, or north america.m. The list on this site is good too, but again, no zip code search.

New to FTA and seeking advice

Had to pipe up and add a howdy to the Missourians. I'm in Nixa myself.

    Primestar install

Good luck.. I used a mast like what is used for the metal conduit for your house electrical. It was about that same OD. I seem to remember needing at least a 2 1/4 or so OD.. so your probably correct. That mast was real thick metal (real pain to cut with the sawzall because mine was...

Some real basic questions before I buy...

Not a bad deal at all and good shipping price. One of these days I'm gonna upgrade my dish. Got a free primestar dish which actually works great, but really limits me with motor options because it's so heavy and it's around 2 3/8 or more fit for a pole. I don't mind going out and re-aiming...

    Cable Entry

Not sure exactly where to get them but I'm sure you could find them online somewhere.. the gray cable boxes like the cable company uses. Or even the pvc type outside square boxes for electrical that have a gasket/lid with 4 screws, one in each corner. Or like pop said, just get a nice...

    NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED

I can definitely understand you being frustrated. Just know that YOU did the right thing doing what you did in the first place. But like previous posters have pointed out, the bad thing for the kids is it's only a matter of time before their "free" tv disappears, then they won't have anything...

    RFD TV

Just answered my own question... thanks though and looks like my dish is staying where it is.

    RFD TV

Didn't realize RFD was on FTA, I haven't seen it on the list. Of course now that I know looks like it may be time to go spin the dish... I have got to get a motor. Anyway, is RFD Ku or C band? I've only got a Ku

    FTA switches...indoors or outdoors??

I've always had mine outside and not had any problems. Get's pretty cold here in Missouri, but not as severe as farther north. Use a good quality compression fitting and torque it to 30lbs and you will pretty much never have an issue with moisture. Of course I don't use a torque wrench, I...

Enter to win: Sadoun Powertech DG380 HH Motor - End 2/28/09

Have to pretty much agree and ditto what everyone else has said. 1 motor = 1 dish. No need to look like a cable/radio/tv station is located at your house with many dishes planted everywhere.

    Installer question

What exactly are you wanting to accomplish? Are you wanting to run DN and FTA both through a switch and then from that switch go to DN receiver and FTA receiver? If so I really see no reason to do that. There's hardly anything but NASA on 119/110 unless you like to watch a lot of DN's...

    DIY OTA digital antenna

I built one of those about 6 months ago. It worked pretty good. I ended up adding an amplifier and preamp to it and am currently using it still. It works fantastic. Just make sure where the wires crisscross on the piece of wood to insulate the two from touching. Depending on where your...

NBA TV free or another mistake?

hehe... there are a couple of channels on that satellite that I really like too.

Where will FTA be in 15 years?

I think we'll have more available too. Unless OTA starts replacing it. 15 years is a lot for technology so who could ever say. As "advanced" as we are here in America it's funny who places like Korea, England, Germany, etc.. have a lot of technology there that takes 2-4 years sometimes to...

My DirecTV DTV36EDS dish has new life!!!

Love to see pictures. I really would think that would be a bear to aim too. As always with FTA..where there is a will, there usually ends up being a way. Especially if your patient and don't give up.

    What type of F connectors+

Sounds like the winner is compression. I'd never use crimp on connectors. Especially outside in weather. A good compression connector like thomas and betts, digicon, ppc, sterling, perfect visioin, etc is a good fitting. I personally like the PPC series but have used others without issue.

    Red Notice on RTN Channels

Uhg.. Wish I had a motor or more than one dish. Love to move over to AMC-3.. but hate to lose the MY networks on G18. I do pick up my31 Springfield OTA not too bad, but not as good as the satellite. Too bad Equity is in such trouble. I kind of dreaded this situation maybe coming sometime...

    Red Notice on RTN Channels

I was afraid of this happening sometime. They have been in financial trouble for a bit lately. I sure hope something can be worked out though. Just like everyone else so far, I love RTN. Sure hope they can work out something.

    Equity woes

If I knew it would even make a bit of difference, I'd be happy to send them a bit of money.. (key word being ...bit) but it sounds like they're in a bit over their head. It's a shame too, because they really do have good programming.

    My First Setup

If you can't find a fence post that big, check an electrical supply store. I ended up using the 3' pipe used for an electrical mast like the kind that comes from your meter box and extends up the house through the roof. I got mine free from my father in law who had one so I have no idea what...

Thanksgiving Contest - Free Glorystar DSR100c System - Enter to Win! Ends 12.1.2008

Can't remember the year exactly. We always got together with family, but there was one year where we had a huge get together with a ton of relatives. I remember seeing cousins/etc.. I hadn't seen for a long time. We were all over my great aunt's old farm house. She had a storage area for...

    Tired of my BUD... SuperDish???

You will probably want a bigger dish because of your location. If you were here in the Midwest you would probably be ok, but you're a bit north. Check out some of the sponsors on here too. Nothing against ebay.. just that sometimes you really don't save anything and always have to wonder...

    Compression connector question

Those are great fittings.. better than the cmp-6 ppc when it comes to quad cable. Yes... they're gonna be tight and may wear out your fingers.. but they will work. 2 tips. (especially with it getting cold) You can use a lighter to warm the cable first before putting the fitting on. Notice I...

IS A COOLSAT 6000 OR A VIEWSAT VS 2000 PLATINUM BETTER?

ok, I'll chime it too. Coolsat. I've got the 6000 and unless you're wanting PVR or HD or something, it's a really good receiver. I love mine.
