My guess is that your LNB is set wrong. You probably have a universal LNB, but have the settings in the receiver set to a stnadard LNB. I'm tired and might be thinking backwards, but I believe that would cause the scan to take 1000 extra off of the actual frequency. Also, with that setting...

How did you check the pointing if you have not quality level? To point the dish you have to select a transponder and move the dish until you see a quality level, not just a signal level. It sounds to me like your dish is not pointed at any satellite since a blind scan does not find any...

I have a UST-4600 and it does not have an IF output connection for the sat signal. The Mercury II has an LNB input and an IF output to pass the signal to another receiver. The 4400 may be different, but I doubt it has a connector to pass the signal to another receiver.
