Every connector is normally a 3 db loss. If the cable connections or the barrell connector are crappy there can be even greater loss. If it is outdoowrs there is a potential for rust adding to the loss. Cable is cheap. I normally run a new one in these situations.

A very interesting, and quite illegeal policy in many Provinces and States due to the 'price' fixing statutes. That is why many companies go to a Manufacturor's Suggested Retail price and THEN they monitor their resellers and reward those that sell at or near the MSRP and penalize (ie no stock)...
