Why? I've mentioned this little fact several times in the past. I can't believe that Dish didn't set it up this way, by putting in one Starz and one Encore channel in the BB@Home package, on purpose. It's a hell of a lot better than what the disc-by-mail portion of the package has become.

Well I didn't get my disc on Thursday, and I'll probably get it today. Kind of supports my position that the Lansing facility doesn't actually ship until late the the day after they say it shipped out.

That is correct. With Netflix, I was able to get 3 discs every two weeks if I worked it. With BB@H, I've turned around a disc in one day and still only get one disc a week. With in-store trade-ins, this really didn't matter and I was able to get 2 discs per week. But now with the local stores...

Netflix is $8 per month for streaming only. Netflix does have a lot of older movies. When it comes to the newer stuff, BB@Home's big advantage over Netflix is that BB@Home has Starz/Encore movies and Netflix doesn't. But Netflix has a huge amount of tv series, foreign films and indy films...

Dish has intervened. That's why 300 more stores are closing, and I'm sure by this time next year, we'll be talking about the entire operation going away. Dish didn't buy Blockbuster to improve disc rentals, they bought it for the name to use with other projects.

Probably buying it from a store and need the extra time to re-package everything. I noticed with Frankenweenie that my local store bought the BD/DVD combo pac and re-packaged them as separate rentals.
