BB@ Home disc By Mail Ending September 19th

That plan is for only 2 bd's per month, 2 dvd's would be $5 per month. Not a very cost effective way of getting movies, IMO.

BB@ Home disc By Mail Ending September 19th

Redbox charges $1.20 per DVD, $1.50 per BD and $2.00 per game. Then whatever sales tax in your area is added. Where I live, a BD is $1.59 total price. Still, I can get 9 BD's for under $15. A very good deal, as long as you can find something you want to watch (which isn't really that big a...

Yes, keep this movie. It was fun and I really enjoyed it.

BB@ Home disc By Mail Ending September 19th

That's because Stargate SG-1 is not available on Blu-Ray and may never be. Netflix used to have it available on streaming, but that license went to Amazon. My son did pick-up the entire series from Amazon when it was on sale for $55 a few weeks ago. He also picked-up Atlantis on Blu-Ray for $55...

Starz full VOD included in BB@Home?

Why? I've mentioned this little fact several times in the past. I can't believe that Dish didn't set it up this way, by putting in one Starz and one Encore channel in the BB@Home package, on purpose. It's a hell of a lot better than what the disc-by-mail portion of the package has become.

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

As you can see above, I didn't accuse you of "drinking the kool-aid". I said that you could have been accused of that. Reading comprehension is your friend. ;) And besides, that doesn't excuse the fact that you were basically "blaming the victim". Honestly, what good is this service if you can't...

In other news, women get raped because of the way they dress.

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

Since when is being honest considered "negative"? Others could have said that you were "drinking the kool-aid" about the service. The service was great for me, until my local store closed. But now the weaknesses of it can't be covered up by in-store exchanges anymore.

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

Well I didn't get my disc on Thursday, and I'll probably get it today. Kind of supports my position that the Lansing facility doesn't actually ship until late the the day after they say it shipped out.

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

I did too. But now it's gotten really slow. Mailed last disc on Saturday the 20th, the Lansing center mailed me another disc on Tuesday, the 23rd and it's scheduled to arrive on Friday the 26th. Lansing is 81 miles away from my house. No way did Blockbuster mail that disc out on Tuesday, it...

BLOCKBUSTER raising it's DVD rental rates

I live near a Family Video and there is one that is on my route to and from work. I've been using them for a few years now and they really know what they're doing. The store is filled with rentals and not tables full of used discs that are for sale. Amazing isn't it. A video rental store that...

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

That is correct. With Netflix, I was able to get 3 discs every two weeks if I worked it. With BB@H, I've turned around a disc in one day and still only get one disc a week. With in-store trade-ins, this really didn't matter and I was able to get 2 discs per week. But now with the local stores...

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

How are those discs? Some of the old tv series I get by mail are pretty grungy. The disc by mail program is working fine for me also. But I've never depended upon it to send me new releases and isn't that what is the real problem here? I always did the store trade-ins for new releases. But now...

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

With my local store closing, BB@Home is only worth the $5 per month I'm currently paying for it. The extra channels are nice, but certainly not worth $10. Of course I honestly feel the same way about all of the premium channel packages. IMO, it's best to sub to them a few months at a time, then...

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

Since my local stores are in the process of closing, I just can't depend on Blockbuster to watch new releases. I have been watching some great series from the late-80's/early 90's though. Right now I'm getting The Flash and have Northern Exposure in my queue. I wanted Crime Story, but the first...

Is Blockbuster at home worth it compared to Netflix?

Let me know when TWC comes out with programming as good as Lillyhammer or House of Cards.

Is Blockbuster at home worth it compared to Netflix?

Netflix is $8 per month for streaming only. Netflix does have a lot of older movies. When it comes to the newer stuff, BB@Home's big advantage over Netflix is that BB@Home has Starz/Encore movies and Netflix doesn't. But Netflix has a huge amount of tv series, foreign films and indy films...

Is Blockbuster at home worth it compared to Netflix?

I dropped Netflix for disc-by-mail, but kept them for streaming after Dish added discs by mail to the now BB@Home. Netflix has a great service and it's been getting better and I do like it better overall than BB@Home. But BB@Home does have several things going for it. It's a great replacement...

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

It looks like my good luck has ended. My local store is closing tomorrow. I went in there to exchange a disc and was told it needed to be returned my midnight Saturday. The manager said that the two next closest stores were closing too. I shook his hand and wished him good luck. He's been...

Isn't this just an updated version of their old VOD pay service?

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

Dish has intervened. That's why 300 more stores are closing, and I'm sure by this time next year, we'll be talking about the entire operation going away. Dish didn't buy Blockbuster to improve disc rentals, they bought it for the name to use with other projects.

Anyone noticed that getting Blockbuster disks at home has suddenly slowed to a crawl?

Probably buying it from a store and need the extra time to re-package everything. I noticed with Frankenweenie that my local store bought the BD/DVD combo pac and re-packaged them as separate rentals.
