    [VOOM] Burn-in on HDTVs

I have a PC hooked up to mine (older Panasonic 4UY). It's used for light web surfing sometimes, but mostly for streamed music (and Winamp visualization plug-ins double as a screensaver), non R1 DVDs and games.

    [VOOM] california rain fade

Definitely check to make sure they have the dish or will be sending it to you. On the first attempt a few weeks ago the installer didn't bring the dish (Crave was out of them) but still wanted to see the problem. I think my response was something to the effect of "It's not raining right now so...

    [VOOM] california rain fade

I was getting dropouts and signal loss with light sprinkles in Sacramento. Took a a bit of effort on my husband's part, but we were authorized for a 24" (installed Friday) which so far seems to be working so far with light to moderate rain.

Both times it failed with "no answer" (I tried an extra time that doesn't count so I could pick up the phone to make sure the box was actually dialing out, it was). My husband called...

Get Voom Guy off my screen!

I think the Voom guy *himself* is okay in between shows, I just don't like his floating head (or anyone else's) popping up during the current program.

Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Nope, no day of rest for the floating head. He appeared on the Chris Isaac performance on Rave today. At least it wasn't during the song "Wicked Game" or I would've had a *complete* fit. :D Comment from my husband: "This shouldn't be happening, I'm emailing Voom tomorrow.".

Get Voom Guy off my screen!

Yes, can the floating "Voom Guy" head please go away? I noticed it on Worldsport while watching the Dog Trials. It's pretty intrusive.
