A big Canadian retailer explained to me exactly why the 2 nations wanted to keep to sat signals from

I don't want to break any rules and talk about hacking - but is this true? I thought Dish was all MP4 and that the system hadn't been hacked for years. Then again, I guess I don't keep up with this stuff. Indeed it irks me since I subscribe to a lot of programming services: Directv...

Canadian service below the 49th parallel

I'm curious as to what you mean by this? Are you saying this of the US networks as a whole, or are you saying specifically Fox? To me, the reason is obvious. This is because the most sought after programming is on the US networks. It's not just Canada - it's across the globe where they seek...

    Lost some transponders on Nimiq4

Thanks a bunch for the responses! Well, having to adjust is a far better answer than no longer being able to receive and at least now I know that it won't be a futile attempt when I'm up there. :) (I really stink at aiming dishes, to be honest - LOL)

    Lost some transponders on Nimiq4

I've once again lost some transponders on Nimiq 4 at the 82 slot. I had installed a 90cm dish last summer and was able to get 82 back in with all transponders but apparently during the last 2-3 weeks, some transponders on 82 disappeared. Does anyone know if something is going on - like maybe...

    Can't find Nimiq 4 with 90cm dish...

Tell me about it - to be honest - I have a tendency to tighten screws and bolts too much and I had a hell of a time trying to peak the 90cm dish and it being kinda flexible didn't help. I still don't think I peaked it well enough, but perhaps I'll try again in a week or so. I'm afraid to lose...

    Can't find Nimiq 4 with 90cm dish...

I'll try to do that tonight... Last night, we got a big rain storm and I sort of fell asleep. :)

    Can't find Nimiq 4 with 90cm dish...

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't using the 36" dish to try to capture both 82 and 91. I am trying use the 36" dish to capture only 82, with a DishPro Dual lnb. Then connect that lnb to the INPUT of my DishProPlus Twin that is on my other 20" dish that I would devote to 91...

    Can't find Nimiq 4 with 90cm dish...

Perhaps someone can give me some tips... My existing setup was a single 20" dish with a DishProPlus Twin for both 91 and 82. Of course, you all know the signal for 82 has dropped off the planet for many places (I'm in the NYC area). So I had picked up a 90cm Fortec Star and outfitted it...

    Aiming BEV - New York

Since I'm heading down that same route - is there any way to easily clamp a DPP single LNBF to a 33"+ Fortec or does one need to cut through the plastic enclosure? I ask this because I have a DPP dual tuner setup (one-wire) and I don't believe I can use a regular legacy LNB on the 33" offset...

In the US, No Sat 82 since Nimiq4, need advice

Your SW44 is doing the same thing that the two SW21s are doing in that diagram except that the SW44 allows you to connect 2 more tuners (for a total of 4). The SW44 that you have is combining the signals from both LNBFs so if you had one LNBF to 91 on one dish, and another LNBF to 82 on another...

    Aiming BEV - New York

Ever since Nimiq 4 went in, my signal strength from 82 has gotten progressively worse and I've lose most of my HD channels and I can't seem to get them back. I do get signal on most transponders (albeit, not great levels - around 50), but I get no lock on transponders 1, 4, 9, 11, 13, 21, and...

MLB Extra Innings on Bell TV

Has anyone had any experience with MLB Extra Innings on Bell TV? I was thinking of going that route as it appears to be considerably cheaper than the other domestic options. Is the programming the same? That is, I'm not getting gypped out of some games as a result of the lower pricing, am I...
