Email from Amazon about Prime Video

I wish they gave you a free shipping tier option only. I don't have time during the year to watch any Prime video, and I don't care about music either. Like someone mentioned previously in this thread, the extras they bundle in aren't reallly "free". The shipping times have gotten pretty bad...

When will it be time to change the name of the site?

AT&T first formed its name as an abbreviation for American Telephone and Telegraph. You don't hear about people using telegraphs, but they still kept the abbreviation as-is. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Broadcast Ratings down 9% for 2022-2023 as Cord Cutting Speeds Up

Nothing in that list is worth watching for me. I mostly watch OTA for the classic TV networks. If I'm really bored, I fill in with YouTube or PlutoTV. There are so many free options out there now with so much content that pay TV or Primetime on OTA network TV isn't even worth it. As far as I'm...

    Another Milestone Achieved

With the cost of everything else going up, who wants to pay for TV?

Decades, Start TV, MeTV, H&I, Story TV all on Frndly TV

I noticed that the Decades feed Frndly broadcasts doesn't match up with the guide on the nearest affiliate station. Instead of airing the Ed Sullivan Show in the mornings, they'll air some show called "Hollywood Remembers". During the night time slot for the Ed Sullivan Show replay, they'll show...

    Seinfeld returning to Netflix

Did they go back to the original 35mm films of the episodes and scan them in at 4K or did they just take the 1080P masters and just upconvert them?

A Streaming service dedicated to diginets

That site used to have a bunch of OTA channels, but it got yanked some time ago. Not much interesting on there now.

    Pluto TV Adds Channels

If they had stuck it out a little longer, they might could've possibly turned themselves into an OTT service. I'd love to have Monsters HD again along with some of the other channels. The guy that designed the movie preview clips for the channel has them on his YouTube page.

Amazon looking to add Live TV

I dropped Prime when I went into furlough a few months ago as a way of reducing monthly expenses. The furlough didn't last long, but I haven't picked the service back up. I thought about maybe buying it on a monthly basis because I seldom used the free services, and there have been some months...

    The Tablo

I had the Tablo for about a week. I didn't have a drive that was natively supported. I didn't want to spend $50 for one of their recommended drives. Two, I kept having aggravating issues that caused me to unplug and restart the unit. Some channels would get this really bad shrieking/chirping...

    What is iGoCast Live TV?

No problems with the service here, but they need to pull a bunch of dead channels from the line up. There are a bunch of streams that are no longer available.

Possible to watch AirTV via browser?

If they keep auctioning off the TV band like they've done twice already, there won't be much bandwidth available to see any channels OTA. Everything will be available by streaming only. On another note, I agree with OTA being at the point now where it's ATSC 3 or bust. Bandwidth is getting...

    DirecTV Now Price Increase

It's basically the concentration of entertainment and technology into the hands of a few. If this keeps up, you'll have a few monopolies running all of the entertainment and infrastructure. If you pay for the technology or the entertainment (even through a third party that uses them), they reap...

    DirecTV Now Price Increase

I think it's more about AT&T gobbling up so many businesses and entertainment acquisitions to the point that they have to increase their prices to stay afloat.

Sinclair Launches Ad-Supported Streaming Service STIRR

I see your point about STIRR. It's likely that they'll use something like that for the interactive on-demand stuff, but I think you'll need an internet connection to receive it. The two-way communication won't work with just your indoor/outdoor antenna. That won't be broadcasting back to the...

    What is iGoCast Live TV?

It's good, but it needs some improvement. The C-SPAN channels look highly pixelated like they're being taken from a source that's 160 pixels. The Retro TV channel doesn't have the audio synched with the video.

    Viacom Purchases Pluto.TV

I don't mind the advertisements to get you to buy a product or service, but I hate the Ad Council ones because they're mostly pushing certain agendas. That's why I'm hoping they'll eventually pull them. You can ask me all day to buy something, but don't tell me how to think or feel. That's why I...

    Viacom Purchases Pluto.TV

Maybe they'll pull those annoying Ad Council ads that come on all the time and replace them with something else.

Hulu and Philo Black Friday Specials

You're exactly right. When you buy into any of the other streaming services or cable packages, you're subsidizing those that wish to view sports. ESPN is notorious for constantly increasing their costs to providers every year. I remember so many times hearing about higher cable costs due to ESPN...

    Hdhomerun premium

Yeah, I'd heard about the Plex app, but I didn't want to go through the process of having to set up a server just to watch/record live TV. I looked through their FAQ section, and apparently someone has developed a program called HDHDRFLING that should do the trick. A guy even streamed his Live...

    Hdhomerun premium

I'd get a Homerun device if it supported Roku. As for their cord cutting service, it doesn't look that impressive to me.
