    Comcast wants to buy Roku

I mean... the only way I would personally think this might be acceptable is if Comcast agrees to continue to distribute all apps and programming that they give to Roku, to any other device / operating system, on equitable terms. No "special backroom deals" for Roku - they have to compete / deal...

    Discovery Plus

I wouldn't be surprised if/when they finally discontinue the "DIY channel" on linear TV, that what they might do is cast it as "DIY is now available only on demand on Discovery+ and the linear channel is now the Magnolia Network". However, what it increasingly looks like is they might just keep...

T-Mobile enters television streaming market with T-Vision

T-Mobile has temporarily added a bunch of the Vibe channels (and some channels they didn't carry at all before) to most of the more expensive T-Vision plans, to address concerns from those channels that feel they have the right to force consumers to buy them. (Legally, yes, they may. But...

    Frndly Tv

I think this reminds me somewhat of Sky Angel - Dish has always been aware of this niche, hence why they were one of the original providers to cater to it, not only by integrating SA* but later the Heartland Pack as well.

    Disney Plus +

Supposedly Hulu is going to start promoting the ad free option more heavily, so I do hope they consider an "ad free bundle" of Hulu+ad free and Disney+. Hulu CEO Randy Freer explains why Hulu never promoted its ad-free version

    Disney Plus +

I am hoping to get a bundle of the $11.99 Hulu plan with Disney+ for as close to $15 as possible. It's probably going to be more like 16.99, though.

    The Ergen-Locast Link

The Local Choice proposal mentioned in this article is fantastic, excellent, and long overdue. This would turn all local channels into either "Must Carry" (at a $0 retransmission fee) or "Local Choice" where each local channel would set an amount of money, and each subscriber would choose which...

BBC Worldwide, ITV SVOD Venture BritBox Launches With $6.99 Monthly Price

If this service included live tv, or at least something like "new BBC / ITV shows available on demand within 24 hours or less of UK airing" and that it applied to virtually all such shows, it would be a lot more interesting. As is, what this service shows is there is a ton of BBC and ITV...

    MSNBC live stream on Sling?

To my knowledge, you have to have at least the $20/mo basic package, and to get MSNBC, you have to have the Sling Blue base package so you'd be paying at least $30/mo. However if you mainly want BBC and the other international news channels they are available in the News Orange Extra package, so...

Sling / DTV Now / Vue

If you want "app access" Sony Vue is the way to go. Sling and DTV NOW each support fairly limited apps. DTV NOW only supports Disney owned apps (ESPN, Freeform, Disney, etc).

SLING TV Begins Cloud DVR Beta

I read elsewhere online that the only channels without DVR are the Disney/ESPN channels. I'm guessing all "Sling Blue" channels support DVR.

Z Living Network added to the lifestyle package

I think Sling just wants to offer as many options as they can. If I had to guess, Fox is probably the one withholding Fox News from Sling, because they seem to carry every other Fox channel. I also think to some extent Sling is not as big on News - they have it but most of it is in the News...

Sling Orange adding E!, FX, and USA?

So, this email I got yesterday says Sling Orange has been "freshly upgraded" to include FX and E!, and the above paragraph mentions watching Mr. Robot (USA). But the text also says Orange would be $25/month.

I keep my Roku 2 (the new kind without vent holes) on top of a little metal cooling rack, like you would put baked goods on to cool, and that way air can flow all around it, and that seems to help.

Sling TV Tests Fox-Anchored Multi-Stream Service

FXX on Sling Fox package is not live, only on demand, but does include The Simpsons. And, it seems to work (watching Simpsons on demand) even when almost none of the live channels work and Sling support has no idea how to fix it.

I'm trying out the new SFN TV

I'm so disappointed they raised their basic package to $36 and are now forcing people to buy sports channels. I thought it was great to see a provider finally offering a Sports only package and a News only package.

Sling TV Tests Fox-Anchored Multi-Stream Service

I got a free trial of this package from Dish because my local Fox is blacked out by Tribune right now. So far I'm finding it disappointing - most of the live channels haven't worked all weekend, and one of the ones I got to work cut out very quickly and then didn't work again. About the only...

    Private Roku Channels?

To my knowledge, SatelliteGuys does not offer any Roku channels, private or public. And the only paid subscription they have is for access to the SatelliteGuys forums. They do not offer any paid subscription for TV programming of any kind. Admins, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Fox and Disney want to sell their own web TV bundle, via Hulu, for $40 a month

Well, if the $40/mo includes the existing Hulu service, that's an $8 value - so if it only cost $32 "more" to get the bundle of live channels, that's pretty competitive with Vue. Of course I think people would expect Hulu to also provide authenticated app access, since Vue does.
