Thank you CDH, I think that's the point most people on this thread intended to express. I had no idea that my original post complimenting Apple would cause such a stir. Had I known this, I would have placed a disclaimer in my post stating that reading it might cause all hell to break loose...

I bought my HDTV on a whim and was not aware of voOm until after I had to suffer through a few months of Comcast HD. I sure was happy when I found out about voOm. Oddly enough the first information I read about voOm was ranting and complaints on another forum. But, I thought I give it a shot...

There are 2 other voOmers on my street :cool: But, I had the service first. :D I noticed when they had their voOm dishes/Winegard (wings) installed and my install is different than the others. The installer placed the Winegard below my dish not above it.

As someone who works in the IT industry and has experience with maintaining a very mixed environment of Server/Desktop platforms its hard to believe that anyone who knows much about computers could make the arguments that he makes. Even the most anti-Mac people that I do know in the industry...

Innovation isn't the same thing as invention. Apple has made great strides in UI and user friendliness. Apple's commitment to quality, state of the art hardware is well above what you will find in the PC world. There is a reason that a Mac can run Windows XP via x86 Emulation and a Windows PC...

Apple is truly a innovative company. If any company can build an HD home network without sacrificing quality it is Apple. How awesome would it be to have Voom/Apple STB/DVR? :D + PixarHD channel for added bonus :cool: .

As far as I'm concerned there is no compelling reason to choose cable HD. My experience with Comcast is that in spite of said bandwith advantage, the PQ was worse on Digital SD channels and terrible on the SD analog channels which they still force upon subscribers.
