April fools: Dish Network VOOM Converter?

So exactly what would this mean? Why would they bother producing these for a service who's immediate future is quite questionable right now?

April fools: Dish Network VOOM Converter?

:what If it wasn't for todays date I might be willing take this more seriously. Sounds very strange though if it is true.

    Apple’s working on a high-definition video network?

Thank you CDH, I think that's the point most people on this thread intended to express. I had no idea that my original post complimenting Apple would cause such a stir. Had I known this, I would have placed a disclaimer in my post stating that reading it might cause all hell to break loose...

Who has seen a VOOM dish?

who bought a hd tv just to get voom?

I bought my HDTV on a whim and was not aware of voOm until after I had to suffer through a few months of Comcast HD. I sure was happy when I found out about voOm. Oddly enough the first information I read about voOm was ranting and complaints on another forum. But, I thought I give it a shot...

Who has seen a VOOM dish?

There are 2 other voOmers on my street  But, I had the service first. :D I noticed when they had their voOm dishes/Winegard (wings) installed and my install is different than the others. The installer placed the Winegard below my dish not above it.

    Apple’s working on a high-definition video network?

As someone who works in the IT industry and has experience with maintaining a very mixed environment of Server/Desktop platforms its hard to believe that anyone who knows much about computers could make the arguments that he makes. Even the most anti-Mac people that I do know in the industry...

    Apple’s working on a high-definition video network?

Innovation isn't the same thing as invention. Apple has made great strides in UI and user friendliness. Apple's commitment to quality, state of the art hardware is well above what you will find in the PC world. There is a reason that a Mac can run Windows XP via x86 Emulation and a Windows PC...

    Apple’s working on a high-definition video network?

Speaking of Apple... I noticed last night when flipping through channels that during the NCAA Illinois vs Wisconsin-Milwaukee game on CBS, Apple had its Ipod Shuffle commercial in HD! This is very cool! I don't think I've ever noticed any other HD commercials before. Apple certainly is...

    Apple’s working on a high-definition video network?

Apple is truly a innovative company. If any company can build an HD home network without sacrificing quality it is Apple. How awesome would it be to have Voom/Apple STB/DVR? :D + PixarHD channel for added bonus  .

How Howard Stern's move may effect Voom.

Yeah  Tell that to the religious right-wing of this country that started all of this nonsense in the first place. Republican lawmakers are not going to risk splintering the base of their party to appease these broadcasters that are now worried that all the $$$ talent is fleeing to...

    cable and HD

As far as I'm concerned there is no compelling reason to choose cable HD. My experience with Comcast is that in spite of said bandwith advantage, the PQ was worse on Digital SD channels and terrible on the SD analog channels which they still force upon subscribers. (...and I'm less than 1/4 mile...
