    Well it was fun while it lasted......and the damn recievers are probably door stops. On a good note I now have $55 a month freed up to pay for a 5G gateway, the Slimline can be parked on another bird like 99w, I might get grandma and grandpa's old dish unless they want me to pipe in some FTA...

    I hope their not folding, I don't want to pick up dish or directv with their "inch the price up every month" business model, and have to pay someone else to come over and install it, not to mention equipment leasing........

    Moral of the story.... never sell an Orby DVR on feebay. It seems I hear nothing but bad things about those DVRs, which made me wary about getting my grandparents one. I did anyways and they haven't had any issues with it.

    Nope. Got it at Adelante's thrift store back in 2018. I replaced all the 'lytic caps in it, did the purity/greyscale/convergence, re-doped the flyback in silicone....... I collect old TVs and radios.

    Self install Orby TV using old FTA dish

    Just installed Orby. Using a Geosat Pro 39 incher as the dish and a regular ol' linear Ku LNBF. I was able to use my FTA receiver to find 117W. Shown on the '67 RCA console, gonna test with the D-ILA projector later. I hope it works out, I want to replace my grandparent's DirecTV with it.
