New SD and WealthTV VVV Only Channels:

Perhaps they should allow a free preview period. I think that Wealth HD is aimed at people who are in the VaVaVoom price point, though.

No new channels this weekend - this is a bad sign

Yeah, if something promised is a day late, it is obvious that the sky is falling. Add one more notch to the "Voom is dead assumption pole" and I swear that Voom will be around when the pole is reduced to a toothpick.

Box owners... who's left and what can we do?

These boxes may have a value to Motorola. After all, there is a good chance that the next generation of DirecTV boxes will be based on a compatible design. As far as going after a refund on the boxes, I think you will need to wait until your signal is indeed dark before you take legal action.

[VOOM] West Coast First Rain = Weak Signal

Manteca? It rains, what, three times a year there? I am still wanting to get the new bigger dish, but until they get the additional slots broadcasting, it doesn't matter much.

Is HD news on the way out?

The news is not a money loser for most networks. Fox News is certainly not a financial drain on Mr. Murdoch! I told them that I wouldn't mind them putting NTSC feeds in a window with data on the side a la Bloomberg if it allowed them to have a better representation of the news. I also...

So what are the main stations Voom is missing in their programming?

They are missing Sci-Fi, HGTV, Lifetime and The Food Network as notables. They are missing others that I don't notice so much since I don't watch them.

Should Voom allow to sell and activate 2nd hand units?

$250 for a receiver?!?! Dude, if you already have an account, additional receivers are only $199. I can possibly see them not wanting to activate a brand new account from somebody who buys a $199 receiver, but for adding an additional used receiver onto an account, I wonder how they would...

Should Voom allow to sell and activate 2nd hand units?

Yeah, that would make more HDTV readily available. Why, the only reason DirecTV and Dish don't add more HD is because you can get it on Voom. I would be pretty pissed if I couldn't sell a receiver to another person that I know. I haven't run across that problem yet, but when I...
