Who's staying up until Zero hour tonight?

Try to think of it as less of a funeral and more of a celebration of life. A life that ends at 3am, sure, but it was a fun ride anyway. :D

Hey Scott - How Bout A Chat on Midnight of the 30th

Ahem. So, "no" to the chat room? Okay, I'll just hang out in DarrelP's "Zero hour" thread. :D

...which, by the way, is on MONSTERS at 9pm. :D

Who's staying up until Zero hour tonight?

I'm gonna try. I'm really not a night person. I usually get up a little before 4am. But... I just got up from a three-hour nap, and the first bucket of coffee is brewing. And there may be pizza involved sooner or later. Currently watching Chances Are on HaHa, while looking forward...

Unplug your Voom STB before May 1, 2005 at 3AM

I intend to be watching Voom at 3am May 1, 2005 (the plan being a short afternoon nap, and buckets of coffee). If that means my STB will no longer work for OTA, so be it. It's a trade I'm willing to make.

Post your wish list for surviving VOOM originals (max 10)

I'd like to see RAVE survive, but only if they add some new programming -- especially videos. I'd like to see MOOV survive, because I think it's cool as hell and there's nothing else like it. If ULTRA survived, I'd probably tune in from time to time to watch the skinny chicks strut their...

    Movies Voom introduced you to.

I couldn't begin to list all the movies Voom introduced me to. Well actually, I guess I could begin -- check out the review thread over in the Programming Thread. Voom pretty much turned me into an HD movie junky -- I'll be checking myself into rehab on the first of May. :no

I will NOT sub to VOOM content if they become a content provider!!

I'll go out on a limb and say I might subscribe to them. It would depend entirely on what form they were offered in, by whom, and for how much. right now everywhere I look they want like fifty bucks or more for four or five HD channels. Not good enough. If it suddenly turned into...

May 1st where will you be? Dish, Cable or DirecTV?

Just spent a little time calling D*, E*, Comcast, and WideOpenWest to see what their HD offerings are like. Looks like I'm going back to just good ol' OTA. The only offer that sounded even a little appealing to me was E*, where I could subscribe to just the HD channels. There's only five...

Call VOOM and cancel and you will still get programming and will not be charged

Glad to hear it. I haven't heard nearly as many billing complaints around here lately -- seems Voom finally got that aspect pretty much together, just in time for the end -- but I gotta imagine it'd be a bit of a PITA to fix a billing problem after they've gone bye-bye.

    What happens to us customers?

If you bought the equipment, yes.

Call VOOM and cancel and you will still get programming and will not be charged

Interesting idea. I'm gonna pass, though. Don't wanna risk it -- not that CSR's are ever wrong, but I'd sure hate to have it shut off before absolutely necessary. And I don't mind paying for as long as they provide the service. It's worth it. Of course, I'm not on autopay. If anyone is...

Agreed. However, adding six new movies in two months is a far cry from having a library of only four movies. That's all I was saying.

A quick look at the Zap2It listings for Kung-Fu shows that from April 6 to April 17, a period of 12 days, they show 18 different movies. They show two movies a day, alternating between the two. Of the 18 movies shown over that time 13 of them are only shown on one of the days. Four (Dragon...

    why I cancelled VaVaVoom

I applaud you too, elocs. And now you've got me thinkin'... I actually had to take a couple minutes to talk myself into going downtown for the Tigers baseball game today. If it was on tv would I have gone? Dunno -- and that's a shame, cuz it was a perfect day, the Tigers are the strongest...

    Rumor: VOOM/Echostar Deal?

I don't think anyone wants this to happen, but if the only other option is that Voom disappears forever along with all the HD channels we've grown to know and love, well....suddenly being part of E* might not sound so bad to some.

My Voom Bill dropped 10 dollars!!!!!!!!

Sweet. My bill just came yesterday. Due on the 19th. I'm gonna pay it, but I'll probably wait until the 15th or so to send in the check. Better safe than sorry.
