I wondered why Voom Died, Now I know!

The Voom 21 package had 10 of these movie channels that had two rotating movies each day. So each day you had 20 movies (10ch x 2) to choose from, not 4 (2ch x 2) like it is now on Dishnet with just 2 of the 10 movie channels. Alot of the movies were older classics or some cheesy B/C grade...

    For what it's worth...

Voom is not dead at my house. I am enjoying the Voom 10 offered by DishNetwork along with 5 OTA HD and the 5 HD channels in Dish's original HD pack. Hmmm, less see thats about 20 HD channels at my house, yes i am happy, very very happy!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

I have to look no further for an HD provider.

Thanks for your reply Darrel, the only additional input i would give people who may be interested in purchasing this model or some other manufactuerers upscaling DVD player is to make sure you buy it from a place that has a 30 day no questions asked return policy. The reason is because the HDTV...

    Dish Net Just Installed

Arty, You may have wanted to get the superdish anyways for the locals, I am guessing that you have no locals guide info data unless your local stations were on the 110/119 sat locations on your 811. I also have an 811 and they do not provide guide programing info for the over the air...

I have to look no further for an HD provider.

DarrellP, I assume your Projector has a built in scaler that will convert the 480i/480p from your old standard DVD player to 720p. So what you are saying is the scaler/interlacer in the Neodigits DVD player is alot better then the scaler/interlacer in your projector (what kind of...

    If you're ordering E*...

Compatability between voom LNB and DishNetwork Switch depends on which type of LNB/Switches your DishNetwork system uses. DishNetwork uses two differant types of LNB's/Switches: 1. Legacy LNB's - these are the older type of DishNetwork LNB's and are compatable with the Voom dish as is...

Yet another PQ thread (question though)

I think the trailing effect you are describing is associated with LCD technology. My quess is you all have LCD projectors or HiDef TV's. If you have DLP or CRT technology i don't think you will see the trailing effect you are decribing.

    HD PQ: Voom VS. D*

dave, Most of the Voom installers from Installs inc are clueless reguarding the OTA antenna installation, you can use your indoor OTA antenna. Look where the cable from the dish is connected to the voom receiver, you will see a grey plug on module (which is a diplexor)...

    HD PQ: Voom VS. D*

dave, Most of the Voom installers from Installs inc are idiots, you can use your indoor OTA antenna. Look where the cable from the dish is connected to the voom receiver, you will see a grey plug on module (which is a diplexor). Disconnect the dish coax from it and turn the...

So Where Do We Stand Now?

Don't worry T, all the real voomers love you because of your dedication and willingness to go above and beyond to help people, but that Troll was making fun of your grammer (our end, not "are end"). Trust me, we are all glad that you are a dedicated worker and helpful person, instead of being...

Poll: What Screen Size do Voom customers prefer?

    The following 3 in the order listed: 1. 106" Infocus 4805 DLP Projector (480p, 16x9) 2. 57" Hitachi HiDef RPTV (CRT's) (1080i, 16x9) 3. 25" RCA CRT SDTV (480i, 4x3)

Is it me or is the guide hard to see?

For 16x9 HiDef 2x screen width should be the max you sit away from the TV (most people like to sit as close as 1.5x if screendoor effect allows it), or you are losing the Widescreen Movie experience. 6' would be the max i would consider sitting away from a 34".

is it safe to sign up voom now or should I wait until 4/1?

Scott, I get such a warm and sharp feeling when you say things like that. (could not use the ward fuzzy or the thread would get highjacked, LOL :) )

New Pricing options please! Stop the madness

Those of us with the grandfathered rates (39.99 and 79.99) are already on borrowed time. Voom announced over 6 months ago that those rates would be increased the $10 like everyone else on 1-1-05. I think the only thing that stopped that from happening then was the termoil in the company with...

*** Stop Adding Channels until the PQ is Restored!!! ***

Verbano, I think the only thing you care about is watching T&A class B movies, go down to the video store and rent some Hardcore porn DVD's and give us break for a few days, Maybe with a little luck your right wrist will be to sore to type for a few days or your keyboard keys will get to sticky...

POLL: Your Most Favorite Channels on VOOM

I just did a guick summation of the percentages for all the channels and they add up around 300%. I think the pool calculations need some tweaking, the summed results should equal 100%, not 300% (probably does not handle the situation were you could vote for multiple channels, it should have...

    How Will Voom Do It?

Why can't voom just offer National east cost locals and west coast locals like dish and Directv do. If you can't get an OTA signal you would gualify for either the east or west coast locals depending on which time zone you live in. Eastern and central would get east coast. Mountain and...
