The site survey guy was just here. No dice on the install without a 30 foot tower. I also have no view of 148, if VOOM were to move to this sat in the future. So, no VOOM for me unless I move or VOOM moves to a satellite other than 148. Bummer deal. :( Bill

I just received a call from a manager at Installs Inc. He wanted to get more information about my horrible install experience. He wants to send a guy out here as well to do a site survey to determine whether or not VOOM service is possible at my location. So thats 3 calls about survey folks...

Can someone get a valid word from VOOM on this? If they agree to cover it as part of the installation (as a measure of better quality for their customers) then we at least have some ground to stand on. Even though -- the install email does state 4 lines are included.

What time is your install? Be sure to take some photos of the mount and what your surroundings look like, in case I can use them as an idea for the next guys. :) Bill

Good to hear!! Where are you located? I'm hoping (and praying) that the survey folks will find a good spot to mount the VOOM dish/antenna. So far I agree with the lazy installer theory.

They never showed up. They will be here tomorrow at 10am.

I got told No Line of Sight, even though I know an experienced DBS installer can install it with no issues. Next install I will tell them to run the two lines and I'll have my VOOM contact on the line when I do so. Bill

Yeah those additional charges need to be sent to VOOM and not paid from your pocketbook. If they try to charge you, tell them to take those fee's up with VOOM. Bill
