Never - and I mean NEVER - use Windex or any other regular glass cleaner on your screen. It destroys the anti-glare coating. Only use distilled water or a cleaning fluid specifically designed for television screens, such as this one from Monoprice, and a clean, good-quality microfiber cloth.
I haven't gone this route but one obvious drawback is the lack of additional inputs for other devices, i.e., DVD, Blu-Ray, VCR, game system, video camera, still camera.
IMO, plasma is the way to go. You get the best moving images and contrast ratio (and hence, the best picture). Pioneer plasmas are best; Panasonic is a very close second and definitely has a price advantage. You won't be sorry with your choice.
