Google CFO Says They're Working on 10 Gbps Connectivity

Have you seen or heard of Infiniband? That stuff is readily available for 40Gig, still has a decent price tag (home network ~$1,000), is readily available and is partially interoperable with SATA and SAS.

Google CFO Says They're Working on 10 Gbps Connectivity

I think it's entirely possible. From what I've heard, the limitation on fiber comes from the electronics on the ends, not the fiber itself. Also, is it possible for any one person, or family of five, to possibly max out 10Gig connection yet? I'm on a 3Mbps connection. lol.

Is surround sound for music and home theater on its way out?

I purchased a surround sound receiver several years ago and set up the surround sound. I must say I was not impressed. I can't figure out why the voice only comes out of the center channel and why I can barely hear the rear speakers. I now have it set to bi-amp stereo and I couldn't be happier.

Are you trying to get FTA or subscription channels? With FTA, there are plenty of PCI and PCI-express cards, some with 4 tuners. I have the TBS 6981, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, with subscription services, you'll need a capture card. I have the Hauppauge Colossus for HD. Included with...
