You forgot to note that 38 % gave the Tablo 5 stars! Also LG no longer supports ATSC 3.0. Certainly LG will not be my choice of HDTVs.

For the 4th gen (white) Tablo recordings saved to the internal drive whether OTA or streamed as MPEG4 to conserve space. Saving to an external drive will be MPEG 2 for OTA only. Streamed material will still be saved as MPEG 4.

One caveat, apps for devices are limited. Can't use a PC to view Tablo. Many smart TV brands do not have apps for Tablo. Do some research.

Rescanned the Tablo and downloaded an additional 17 fast channels. Now have a total of 110 channels of which 44 are OTA. In my previous post the SSD is 500GB rather than 500mghz.

So far here in southern Ontario/ Niagara regions the guide is spot on except for 1 OTA station, TV Ont. Connected a SSD 500mghz external USB drive. Recordings and playback are flawless. No buffering or stutters.

I've noticed that the picture quality on my new Tablo is nothing to get excited about. I can't find any settings to enhance or adjust the video quality. But I do like the wifi feature.

I suspect ATSC3 is opening the door to Pay per view over OTA. Free viewing will disappear.

Can ATSC 1 be encrypted as well? The Telco mentality here in Canada is that everyone should pay for TV services which included OTA.

I don't think 3.0 will ever come to Canada. As a matter of fact the broadcasters would prefer to do away with OTA altogether. Mentality is, no freebees, everyone should pay for TV just like cable or satellite.

That balun in the little black box is actually a tiny PCB board. Not much to wear out or fail. Any 300/75 ohm will work. I replaced the black box on my CM 4221 HD with the same as you mention and the VHF reception improved quite a bit.

WBBZ in the Erie Penn area is showing 67.5 as DABL. However at the moment it is a blank place holder.
