    Digital signal strength??

Sorry, I was going from memory which I guess wasn't very good. Try www.solidsignal.com or it's sister site www.solidsignal.tv or www.summitsource.com.

    Digital signal strength??

Solidsignaltv.com and Summit Source Electronics have been good suppliers for me.

    Digital signal strength??

It's when Dish doesn't give you the full 1080 HD signal like you can get directly from the broadcast station via antenna. The Dish signal will be better than SD but not full HD because it is compressed when it is uplinked to the satellite and then it has to be decompressed in your receiver on...

    Digital signal strength??

With my antenna system about 68 is the marginal digital signal level. My signal levels vary from 101 to about 68 depending on the channel. Ideally you would like to be at least 75 to 80 to allow for signal loss during bad weather. Two of my lower signal level channels will pixelate occasionally...

    Connecting 2 outdoor antennas

Both. Go to winegard internet site or look up on a search engine. Specification says combine any two antennas.

    Connecting 2 outdoor antennas

The Winegard cc-7870 combiner will do the trick and is $15 from solidsignal.com . There will be about a 3db insertion loss for two identical antennas pointed in opposite directions. If you had two identical antennas pointed in the same direction you would have a 3db gain.

    Connecting OTA antenna to Dish?

I agree with you about the seperate cables and thats how I do it most of the time however "knighthammer" already said he didn't want to run seperate cables. So if that's the case then the diplexers are the best way. If the antenna signal is degraded he may need to put a preamp on the antenna but...

    Connecting OTA antenna to Dish?

A diplexer looks just like one of those small signal F type signal splitters that are used all over the place. However the two inputs are different. One will say Sat. and handles the higher sat freq. and the other says ant. You need to combine the signal at one end and seperate it out on the...

    Connecting OTA antenna to Dish?

I forgot to say that your system may have a seperator for the Sat. inputs at the receiver now depending on your hookup so the diplexer would be installed in the cable before the seperator so you extract the antenna signal first. Then hook the antenna pigtail to the "antenna in" on the receiver...

    Connecting OTA antenna to Dish?

What do you mean by the Dish connection box? Do you mean a multiswitch? Is this a box where the downleads from the dish hookup and then cables go out to each receiver? Sounds like it and if this is so then you need a diplexer to combine the higher freq. sat. signal and the lower freq. antenna...

Thats the my plan too. I want to upgrade the two 811 's right out of my system. I'm just waiting until after Feb. 1 when Dish starts their new upgrade program.

    Help with CM 7777 amp

I have an ota setup for my locals going to two 811 receivers and one 921 receiver. I get ota signal levels of 90 to 100 on the 921 with great reception but only 65 to 75 on the 811 and trouble getting some channels. As a test I hooked the same antenna lead to all three receivers one at a time...

    DISH and OTA HD...which antenna?

It all depends on your signal strength coming from the TV station. The only way to know is to try it . I know that the antenna gets a strong signal for its small size. Also it has about a 60 degree reception cone off the front so you have some flexibility on pointing it. It doesn't get any...

    DISH and OTA HD...which antenna?

I think as I remember the Squareshooter is over $200 each so 3 of them could cost you quite a bit of money. I assume that you are going to a multiswitch before you run to your receivers. You can take the antenna coax ( after you preamp it) to the area of the multiswitch and then split it 3 ways...

    DISH and OTA HD...which antenna?

Yes you can diplex and you need one on each end. I assume your incoming Dish coax goes near your antenna. Keep in mind that each time you insert a diplexer there is some signal loss so all the more reason for a preamp before you run the antenna coax into the diplexer.

    DISH and OTA HD...which antenna?

Channelmaster makes some very good preamps if you look locally. Also Solidsignal.com is a good source for OTA products. I believe that your existing one antenna in the attic will work just fine. I have hooked these up for people doing your same kind of setup ( one just this last week ) and...

    DISH and OTA HD...which antenna?

Just saw your question about the Squareshooter. I have that one on my roof and it works fantastic. I did add a preamp to it though. If you were to put it in your attic there would be some signal loss but you would have to try it to see. The preamp would help. Those antennas or a clone (Winegard...

    DISH and OTA HD...which antenna?

It should work if it has uhf elements on it. However when an antenna is mounted inside an attic there is about a 50% signal loss compared to ouydoors so it's possible that you might need a preamp near the antenna and you may need to rotate it a little bit. Also the old antenna may be 300 ohm so...
