Can I have 2 receivers with a shared account?

It is not "sharing", it is stealing. You are trying to get something without paying for it. Not only that, you are being greedy about by wanting to have even more! If you friend wants to share, you will have to go to their place to watch, otherwise it is just plain theft.

NightRyder is correct. This is just politics. Wind bags looking for press. (and getting it) will never go anywhere.

    Internet via satellite...help

See if any alternatives are available... Multiple modems can be combined together for more speed. Takes multiple phone lines and an ISP that can handle it. Sometimes referred to as "shotgun" or (I think) MPPP. Webramp used to offer some devices that would do the modem combining for you. You can...

Which U.S Satellite Provider Has The Best Picture Quality? Please Vote!

And they are the only ones who should vote. The others are making the poll worthless

Which U.S Satellite Provider Has The Best Picture Quality? Please Vote!

The PQ is constantly changing as providers add, remove and shuffle channels. Comparing two providers on different monitors will lead to very iffy conclusions. If you can't compare the providers on the same monitor today, you should not vote.

Which U.S Satellite Provider Has The Best Picture Quality? Please Vote!

But this poll is valid if the only people that vote have all three services hooked into the same monitoring environment. Otherwise, people will be voting off inaccurate comparisons at best and guesses at worst. How many people have all three services? And have them hooked into the same...

    DirecWay

Sorry I wasn't clear. That was my point. There are some serious problems with satellite internet. Uplink hassles, download limits, price. For me, the most significant is latency. Calling up a new web page can actually take longer with satellite than with a good dial up in some cases. Satellite...

    DirecWay

From what I understand, (and I have not tried any of this yet) many small rural isp's support some sort of this. Though you need to talk directly to the techs; The sales people generally don't know that they offer it. The cost of a second phone line varies, so it could be much more expensive, or...

    DirecWay

anothe option is to combine multiple phone lines together. There are a couple of names for this. "shotgun" and "multi-point ppp" or something like that. I looked into it a few years ago. You need two or three modems and someway to combine them. There used to be some specialized boxes just for...

HELP! Condo Association Problem...not the usual though

Could you put your receiver outside? Build or buy a little cabinet to put it in and control it with a UHF remote. Then use a UHF transmitter to get to your TV. Might be an inexpensive way to go. Would probably really bug the people giving you a hassle :)

    Voice over IP and DBS??

You wouldn't want to do it over satellite. The latency would be way to high. If you ask a question to whoever you are talking, you would have to wait for a couple of seconds for the reply to come back to you. It is just about impossible to have a conversation with delays like that.
