    Another FiOS TV Review

Glad to hear you like it Korsjs. I wish that i could get FIOS here but maybe the bell south/at&t merger will bring there version of IPTV to us southeasterners. Where to buy Tripod?

There shouldn't be any reason why they can't mount it to a tripod. The mast size for those dishes are the same for other DBS dishes. When I installed someone that lived in a apartment I always got a 5 gallon bucket and put concrete in it with the 1 5/8" pole. Level it up and let it firm up a...

My bad, I miss read the original post. I thought he was getting RF interference. I didn't see that he was actually getting electrical current going to the coax. Oops

    missing local channels

Just tell them you moved and you installed everything yourself and they will cut the locals that you are supposed to get in FL on. It doesn't help you out any on getting news from your hometown in Indiana but its better than nothing I guess.

Do I need an sw21 switch to combine two LNbf

That switch is made for 4 lnbs but it will work for two.

Do I need an sw21 switch to combine two LNbf

IIRC, you'll need a Diseqc 2x1 switch to work with those two lnbs and a FTA receiver

Do I need an sw21 switch to combine two LNbf

Do I need an sw21 switch to combine two LNbf

Yea, a SW21 switch will work. Just run a coax jumper from each dish to the inputs on the switch. The output goes to the receiver.

    LNBF's types

Also, DBS satellites use circular polarization and FSS satellites use linear (horizontal/vertical) polarization. There is another band that Directv has already started to use and Dish plans on using in the future and that is KA band. It uses alot higher frequences up to the 17 and 18ghz range.

    LNBF's types

A FSS lnb is for satellites like what you see FTA channels on that are typically 11.7-12.2ghz. Dish has two FSS satellites at 105 and 121. The other satellites that Dish uses is BSS (DBS) satellites that are typically 12.2-12.7ghz. They can use small dishes down to 18" because they are higher...

Cablewithaview is right. I would ground the conduit to if you use metal conduit.

Post your backyard/Roof Antenna, Dish, Tower, C-Band, Ku-band Pictures!!

What is the point of the dual reflectors on that dish. It looks kind of like the Ravian (I think thats how you spell it) dishes that Wildblue got to build there dishes for them. Does that 2nd reflector help in the gain. I think I read where it helps reduce the side lobes and narrow beamwidth...

Looking for a Korean satellite provider

Check out our FTA section and see what all Korean channels are in Free to Air mode. I'm sure there lots of stuff up there you would like to watch. I wouldn't worry about the channels getting scrambled on FTA satellites because there are always new channels that come on every so often and there...

    HD vs HD Lite?

I would like to see what HD is available on C-Band also. If Dish doesn't resolve their HD-Lite issue then I will be checking in on C-Band. I don't mind spending the money to get a C-Band Dish, a 922 receiver and HDD200, a actuator, C/Ku Feedhorn and LNB's, switches, etc. because if I'm going to...

Would it not save Dish/Direct space to

If all of the CBS/NBC/FOX/ABC stations were owned and operated by each other and not affiliates and owned by someone else then this wouldn't be such a big deal. The owners of the affiliates don't won't you watching a station from NY or from some other city because you are taking money out of his...
