Thank you for the 942 update. I'm not surprised but at the same time I question the priority mix on Dish's part. I'll point my discussion points in another more appropriate forum.

I've been thinking lately about the Cable card concept forwarded by the Cable Industry. It seems to me that if dish/direct can build a satellite tuner that interacts with the TV in the cable card format, then they would be able to virtually eliminate the cost of the STB's and truly be on par...

Did dish have it's 942 on display? To me that's the next exciting application currently in development. Well at least until someone announces a cablecard HD Tivo with a Blue Ray burner built in. :)

Dish is the price leader, and they should focus on what they do best. Does Voom have a website?

I've always felt that E should have a premium service with premium receivers. Target the premium stuff to the highest level dealers that creates value in going to the little guy.

Good Point! To take it a step further they could segment the product offerings by making the TiVo receivers available only through higher end A/V retailers so they have something to differentiate there product.
