Would you switch to Fios ?

The billing has been a bit hard to sort out but, I've been very pleased with the service. I have tv, phone, internet (5/2) through FiOS. I have had no problems with the DVR, but from what I read, I'm not supposed to be pleased with the FiOS DVR. It works fine for me.....but I'm too busy to...

Verizon 3Q 2007: 202,000 net new FiOS TV customers, 717,000 total FiOS TV

HD is a fad...just like color tv VZ is right to ignore HD. For the love of Peter, Paul, & Mary, it's not like HD is really catching on. Give it a few years and the same thing will happen to this HD nonsense that happened to color tv. Besides, piss on shareholders. That's the ticket. I'm...

Is Verizon's FiOS out of bandwidth?

I think the point is that the VZ's inability to add a bunch of hd channels now is not due to limits of fiber but to the limits of the equipment. I'm not an expert ...I'm not remotely educated on the ins and outs of fiber, but I really don't think the issue is the fiber itself.

    A&e Hd

Not so young Jedi, D*'s HD rollout is composed mainly of national channels. The "locals" you speak of are RSNs. D* has something like 45 or slightly more national channels. Everyone gets the truly national HD channels. I think you can get RSNs as well, but the major league sports on those...

    New HD Channels?

VZ slow to play the HD game The thing that makes their slowness more tolerable is that there's isn't a whole lot that we're missing. Yes, I know the playoffs are on, but overall, it's not like there's a waterfall of HD flowing....channels, yes, but not the content. VZ will get there....but if...

    New HD Channels?

No-TBS HD I got an email from a programming/content person @ V* a couple of days ago and it said that TBS-HD is not happening for the playoffs. I don't believe that we V* subs will get much new HD this year other than a channel or two....this is an opinion, but the no-TBSHD is fact.

    New HD Channels?

Part of the reason I chose not to go through with my D* installation for tomorrow was cost. I got a good deal through my local Costco ($169 for the HD DVR and $10 off my bill for 10 months), but I would be looking at slightly more than $140/month with D* and FIOS internet and FIOS phone...

    New HD Channels?

Almost dumped V* But I didn't. I went so far as to sign up for D* at my local Costco last Sat. I even got a quick install date of Oct. 3. I called today though to cancell the install. When I was in the process of ditching Comcastsucks, I chose V* over D* and I figured there was a good...

    New HD Channels?

Don't hold your breath for HD additions Well, like many of you, I called V* to try to pry some information out of them regarding some HD additions. I routed to some yahoo who gave me the standard line about how they're constantly working to add channels and upgrade service. I told him that...

    Wiring

That sounds right. I got Fios on Spet. 5 and I had no special wiring...just what was there when I had Comcastsucks. YOu might also want to run CAT5 (CAT6 maybe?) b/c the router that V* provides has four ports for hardwired netowrking in addition to wireless capability. Enjoy FIOS...just don't...
