TiVo files patent infringement lawsuits against AT&T and Verizon

This could be interesting. AT&T Uverse is not their own product. Uverse is Microsoft MediaRoom platform. Sue AT&T over the Uverse DVR and you’re directly bringing Microsoft into the battle.

    Review: AT&T U-VERSE

I got the same deal. I told them I was considering leaving DTV because of all the equipment trouble and they offered an extra $100 to sign up. In the end I got a $200 check and a $100 visa gift card. Recived them both before even the first bill was due.

    Review: AT&T U-VERSE

I think phase two has improved the HD quality quite a bit. I used to say it was 95% of DTV now I would say it's 99%. Most HD stuff looks better than DTV now but Uverse is still over compressing when the video is very dark, like a night sky with only a few stars you’ll see blocking. I'm betting...

    Review: AT&T U-VERSE

Uverse is different than other services. Your house gets 2 hd and 2 sd streams. You can use these on any number of boxes you choose. (hd streams can be used as SD, so you could view 4 sd streams and no hd streams) A house can have one DVR and the remaining boxes are salve boxes off the...

DIRECTV and DISH Network Applaud Kentucky Supreme Court Ruling Striking Down Tax Law

U-Verse use cables and equipment installed in or on public easements which subjects them to state and local taxes. Satellite does not. BTW... the badwidth used by U-Verse Tv does not go over the internet. It is segmented totally within AT&T's network.

    Review: AT&T U-VERSE

The skip seems to depend on where you live. In west suburbs of Chicago with the Cisco box the skip is a true skip and is 36 seconds in length. The back is a true skip back and in 7 seconds in length. The important thing to remember is the service you get is not based on the number of boxes...

I have the Cisco box and it's a true skip, it 36 seconds however. I just press the skip button and it pretty much instantly 36 seconds forward.

I've yet to figure out the logic of U-verse's 36 second skip. As for the broadcast flag. It's in there all new DVRs are required to have it. As for sneeking in, U-verse is Microsoft's Media Room platform, it's not customized it's just branded.

My Uverse Review Part 1: Installation

I actually have to admit the installers did an excellent job on mine. Now mine was pretty simple because my house is wired for network but none the less they mounted the RG in the garage neatly, mounted the power supply in my wiring center, and ran all the cables nice and neat. Even replaced...

This is definitely your mileage may very part of the system. Personally my ping times are 10 to 20% lower than my Comcast connection was. DOCIS 3.0 ( does seem to increase Comcast ping times. Now this just might be my experience and in my overbuilt area. In Counter Strike my ping times with...

ATT dropped thier TV requiments for internet. You can now get U-verse internet with out TV service and they don't nail you with a an extra fee like comcast is doing to me. Only real catch is if you don't order tv they don't wave the $149 install charge. Over at anohter fourm site (not sure if...

I had u-verse installed about two weeks ago and am very impressed so far, figured what the hell with their 30 day free offer. I'm in the Chicago suburbs and The SD PQ is probably 125 to 150% of DirecTV but HD is only 90 to 95%. I would call the HD quality good but not excellent. Head to head...

It's part of the Sport's Tier here for an extra fee. Was $4.99 but just went up to $5.99. Got a nice $15.00 increase on my bill this month. Thanks, Comcast.

    Comcast, what are you doing?

I agree it definitely not BW. They just sent out a thing with the bill talking about their recent all digital conversion has freed up space to expand their "great service offerings" including HD, OnDemand, and Voice and Data services, "more news to come on this in the future", which I am also...

In Aurora, Il the top package is now "OnDemand Gold Plus" for $88.99 "Our Digital Gold package includes two premium channels. Choose from: HBO, Showtime, and Starz. Each premium includes multiple channels. " Two years ago (before I moved) I was paying $79.00 for all five premium...

When I first got Comcast their top package had HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, and TMC. I move into a new house and their top package only has HBO, Showtime, and Starz, same price less channels. I call to make some changes today and am now told their top pack only includes two premium channels...
