So glad I happened to wander into this thread. Just made the call & went from 60/5 to 100/10 in a few minutes of my time for no more $$$! First speed test is 94.46/11.46, excellent! I'm in Michigan, north of Flint.
When/IF Charter ever actually gets the World Box or some other DVR that's decent and a channel guide that makes sense I'll sign up. I'm not up to parting with $500+++ to go with the Tivo solution to get what should be provided with it's TV service to begin with. I currently have the dated 722 &...
Your post has taken care of any thoughts of switching to Charter from Dish for me. There have been so many posts for a very long time about their ancient DVRs and muddled programming guide. You'd think they would have corrected this by now.
Geeze Spike, thanks for the reminder to count my blessings. All of a sudden my arthritis, which I have pretty bad, stopped bothering me at all! Hang in there, we're pulling for you. My best to you and yours.

I've got phone and internet. Both have been great and in about 2 years has only been down for a very short length of time due to major storms. I'm paying $73 @ month. Internet alone would be $69 @ month so having phone is a no brainer.

I've only had Charter for internet a little less than 2 years but it's been rock steady. Been very happy them. Mine only averages 66 down & 4.5 up--PLENTY fast enough for me.

So how's the picture quality in these parts? I went with Charter for internet & phone some time ago partly because of feedback from you and have been very happy with them. Like primetime guy I'm concerned about set up costs. With splitters and some mirroring I've got HD in 5 rooms with 2 Dish...
I just added the app to my Roku and it looked like if I had Charter TV (I don't) it would be good to go. ??? This certainly makes switching from Dish a stronger possibility.

Wow, sorry they reneged on the offer-that sucks. Dish did follow through. $50 off @ month for a year and they upgraded me one package. I'm half way through the year now. We'll see what happens when it's up. BTW, I appreciate your initial post with the differences between Direct & Charter some of...
Chuck-Same thing happened to me when I called to cancel Dish to go with Charter. I've been with them for 16 years as well. They gave me an offer I couldn't refuse, also no contract. When the year of credits comes to an end I'll be calling them again to cancel for Charter and I WILL cancel if...
I called Dish a few months back and told them I was switching to Charter. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse but when the year of credits expire I'll be calling them again. They do in fact have more HD and lots of channels that you'd have to go to Dish's 250 package to get in their bottom...
I switched from Centurylink to Charter for phone & internet about 1 1/2 years ago. I've been very happy with them. I waited a week or so for installation but I didn't push for a earlier install.
Ed
1st year it was $60 @ month then it went to $70. They just raised it $2 to $72. Keep in mind that this is the TOTAL amount, no added fees/taxes, etc.

I went from Centurylink to Charter for internet & phone only. VERY happy with them. ALMOST switched from Dish to Charter about 6 weeks ago but when I called to cancel they ended up giving me an offer for a year I couldn't refuse.
Tip: Before you switch for TV call Dish to let them know you're...
Never thought I'd do it but I was ready to switch to Charter from Dish a month ago. Been with 'em constantly since '99. Bottom line is I'd save about $50 @ month the 1st year. I have their internet & phone now. When I called to cancel Dish made me an offer I couldn't turn down. I'll see what...
