AT&T U-verse TV Would Not Meet FCC's AllVid Gateway Requirement

This article has nothing to do with nework broadcasters and everything to do with MVPDs (i.e., Cable, Satellite and Telcos). I certainly hope we see a future "home gateway" device based on open standards because CableCard has been a failure and it only applies to traditional cable architectures. Regardless, the proposed Allvid (albeit a "set back" or "home gateway" device) will have the most effect on DBS (aka Satellite).
 
I'm pretty sure that DIRECTV's DECA won't qualify either. The article mentions that MoCA qualifies only with multiple segments. FIOS uses MoCA.
