I have almost 1TB worth of programming and movies in my external hard drive connected to VIP 722 DVR. Is there a better user interface or solution that will allow me to access my content more easily & efficiently? Right now, I scroll forever for something that was recorded about a year back. All I see is a long list of items arranged in a long table of contents. Thanks!

There is an option somewhere to sort them so that all episodes of a program are under 1 listing. I've upgraded to the Hopper so I can't search for the sequence to get to it.
I know of 2 sorts for the EHD--Alpha/Numeric and by recording "DVR Date".
(I wish there were sorts by original date or by episode number both on EHD and internally as they may not be recorded in original or episode order. Sub-sorts are too much to ask for.)
You set the internal sort mode and the EHD will be the same, limited to those 2 when the EHD is there, it seems.
If you exchange disks it may still have the old list for the new disk. It realizes the list is wrong when you ask for a recording and fetches the new info.
AFAIK, grouping on EHD is only by same title.
