Direct control of receiver

Hey all, anyone ever been able to find a way to control any of the Vip receivers thru the USB or Ethernet ports? DirecTV has been suporting this for years now, but I would like to do the same with my Dish Vip 211 and 722 thru Crestron. Any suggestions?

Did that.......Was trying to get a inovative thinker from this group that has tried this before. Crestron only offers IR control, anything else and you are on your own to figure it out.
