Hello guys, I have a friend who lives in Beaverdale, Pa 15921
He is having problems with his setup, of course he cannot find 119. He mentioned
he can get 110.
I looked at dishpointed and it has this for setup:
Elevation: 24.4°
Azimuth (true): 236.9°
Azimuth (magn.): 249.9°
Dish Skew [?]: 129.3°
Turn clockwise standing behind the dish
Any tips for him?

I set my 1000.2 at 126 skew and 29 elevation.

That's not far off from here in NE TN, skew is 129 & ele 33.

129 is ridiculously low here, 24 across the horizon. I'd say it's about 21 or 22 @ your location.

Anyone east of the Mississippi river should be on ea, especially the Mid Atlantic & northeastern states.

Directv in my area does more business because 129 is so low here.

We can put up an ea dish with a wing pointing @ 110 for sd locals. Dish doesn't pay us anything extra for a wing & most customers won't pay for it either. When 129 is questionable it is much easier to sign them up on Directv.

Dish should reevaluate their 129 markets, any dma with an elevation of 35 or lower on 129 should be a high priority to be on ea.

That would gain them a whole lot more customers than this current ipad offer.

My table has Azimuth 241 that I would start at 250 for Deviation. Elevation 27 and skew 127.

Forget the tin foil wives tale. The key is to have the Sat 119 LNBF selected either by having the tuner/s set to 119 with the transponder 13 or above. If you don't force select 119, the default is usually 110. With the tin foil, then you are blocking the LNBF you are connected to.
