Dish actually called and will install a 24" antenna for 129 at no cost.

Suprise-Suprise got home today and Dish (Portland OR) had called to arrange a free upgrade of the (500 - 129 antenna). I had given up hope after repeated calls and e-mails. The dish rep was very nice and informed me that the Technical staff that took my call, was wrong and "yes Dish does and will install a 24" antenna in the Northwest area." Sometimes is pays to speak out. Now the question will is solve the signal loss
problem. We will see on Thursday.

Anyone having this problem. I suggest e-mailing (Echo-Star) technical support. This is where I believe the action came from. I was very complete in this e-mail of all the dates, times and names of who I spoke to.

Good Luck! They (Dish 3rd Party Installer) has canceled three times on me this week! I have lost two days of pay from my job waiting for them to install a Dish 500 with my Dish 1000.

Charlie chat on 129

If the Charlie chat mentioned it months ago, I missed it. But they evidently don't relay the necessary information to the staff that fields the calls and sets up the technicians.

It has taken me about 3 plus weeks to arrive at a replacement antenna, but Thursday isn't here yet. They would be well served to issue a press release and post on their web site discussing the problem and proposed permanent and temporary fixes.

It seems that this would prevent some exiting to Direct because of the 129 problem.

But who am I to tell them what to do??

I can only hope it will work, I will issue a release late Thursday describing the process
and result for us in the N/W.

Golf awaits as the sun is out and spring is around the corner.

I'm 100% positive it was mentioned. They also increased the output power of the 129' satellite to help this situation. Benefit of that for everyone was it was an across-the-board increase, not just on specific transponders. My strength on 129 (I'm in Ohio) increased by 10 points or more, as I recall.

I haven't seen the result of the mentioned power increase here in California. Some TPs are in the 90s but others still where they've always been, mid 60s and 70s.

They called me back in Nov. 06 to upgrade my D500 with a 1000 so I could get the 129. All for free. Since they did I went DishNitUp and went HD.

Where does one pick up a 24" OEM Dish if you aren't in the Pacific Northwest? I've never seen a model number nor one advertised anywhere.

Fortunately we don't have to deal with that POS Dish 1000 antenna..Always had issues wiht weak sigs on 129....IMO the antenna is too small.. Glad to see you are getting the proper sized reflector...

Dishstore does have some 24 inch Dishes that will accecpt a D shaped LNBF Assembly for $49.99

These Dishes where purchased directly from Echosphere which is a DISH Network Distributor. The box that it comes in does say "DISH Network" on it, but some reason does not have the DISH Network logo on the DISH.

You'll need to call the office since we do not have the item posted to the store since we mainly use them on our commercial installations.
