Well, here's my story. A tornado hit my house, dish was skewed and after a week of calling them, they sent someone out. I was told there wouldn't be a service fee, OK.. The guy fixes everything and everything's fine and dandy. My bill comes and there's a $29.00 service fee. I call Dish and after some "haggling", the CSR person told me its ok, I don't have to pay it. Then comes the next bill. I'm past overdue!!! I still owe them the $29.00. I call them up again and am told that unless its authorized by the "head office", the previous CSR was wrong. So, this CSR says I have to pay it. If the first CSR was wrong, logic would dictate that all CSRs r wrong, so this last one is wrong too, right?

Anyway, I went ahead and paid it off already. DISH always will dick around with existing customers.....

In order for Acts of God to be covered, the customer must be in a known affected area where one is taking place (known to DISH, not the Weather Channel.) Accounts in such cases are marked for the period of time the bad weather is occuring. My guess is the customer explained the situation to the CSR, the CSR assumed it would be covered under Act of Nature, and the second CSR saw this error. In this case, the second one would be right as DISH won't waive charges without Act of Nature on a particular account identified an area of know weather problems. *shrug*

Rule of Customer Service (especially in 2007) call back at least 3 times and have the account noted once they tell you what you want to hear. Its a crap shoot, roulette, playing the dozens.....all depends on luck and timing...

Sounds like "Deal or No Deal"

Sounds like what i just went through getting the DVR Advantage pkg.

Attempt 1: Transferred to account cancellation
Attempt 2: Was told that the Dvr Advantage pkg was only available on the AT250 pkg.
Attempt3: Totally lost phone connection
Attempt 4: Was told from the start that the Dvr Advantage pkg was availablt in the AT200 pkg........finally got the AT200 DVR Advantage pkg.

Update: I did what Neutron suggested and emailed them. They replied a day later and said that the credit promised was in my account so they will give it back to me on the next bill. Quite a good and prompt response I might say. Thanks Neutron!

Whoa, the same Dish Network that "always will dick around with existing customers....." resolved your issue. Odd...

Hey, sometimes even Dish can surprise.

Onto this, if your house got hit by tornado, wouldn't your dish be the least of your worries? Heck, couple years back I got hit with a wind storm, and it ripped half of my roof off, I wasn't worried about TV.
