Dish programs on external hard drive

I probably will drop Dish over loss of AMC original programming and switch to Directv. Am I screwed when it comes to the Dish programming I have on my external hard drive? No way to at least transfer it to a computer?

You can watch it and transfer it to a DVD before you cancel your subscription. Once you cancel the subscription the programming is permanently LOST.
