1. Buy a 625 that has never been activated before.*
2. Call E* and activate it.
* Either buy a 625 new-in-box from a trusted retailer or installer or buy from some place like ebay. When buying from ebay, get the S00 and R00 (smartcard and receiver) numbers and call E* to verify that you can activate it. Most 625's off ebay are most likely illegally being sold. Also, you could try searching the forum for these instructions before creating a whole new thread on a subject I distinctly remember discussing just a few days ago.
