Hi, Folks--

My HD TV has no DVI output. So I have to use the component to connect with my HD receiver. Is it posible to find a DVI to component adptor/converter? How's the video going to change? Any comments? Thanks.

Charles

You can get component to DVI cords, they vary in price so shop around. The DVI tends to have more effect on digital process tvs ie. DLP, LCD but not so much on CRT. It would depend on what type of tv you have if the picture would look any better. I use components on my Sony CRT even though it has HDMI and it looks great.

Just stick with component. A component to DVI converter (which I'm not sure exist), isn't gonna buy you anything (over the original component source). The extra conversion might even make the picture worse.

Component to DVI is fairly complex since it requires a very high speed Analog to Digital converter.

You might have problems in the future as there is talk that HD DVDs will only support full resolution through HDMI or DVD w/ HDCP (copy protection). If the MPAA has their way, Sat and Cable will be forced to go to this too.

No DVI?

Does it have HDMI or what? if not, go with component all the way, forget about using an adapter.
