Is there a place besides the dish products web page a person can get a real good explanation of how the hoppers and Joees work without all the hype?

what kind of questions are you trying to get answered?

there's no straight forward web page that I know of since it all has the Dish marketing spin. Pretty much everything is covered in the satguys hopper forum though.
