How does the display of dvr'd programs differ between the 722 and the Hopper?

Is there a big difference between the display/grouping of dvr'd programs? Took me forever to teach the wife how to use the dvr to replay stored programs. As much as I'd like to gt the H/J once ota is available. If the way to select dvr contents is significantly different, I might just have to add a VIP to get HD on another TV.

My 722K showed recordings in a list format. The H/J system is all iconized with options to store in folders sorted by title, genre, custom or none. They can be listed by name, date recorded or rating. I didn't like the system when I got it but it's grown on me since. It's pretty intuitive and my wife had no trouble adapting to it.

Do the icons show up as episodes or is there a master icon for each series that you can open to get to each episode in that series?

There are several different options to display the DVR programs. If you turn in the folders by title option each show will be displayed as an icon and when you go into the folder the various episodes will be shown by list. I attached a couple screenshots from my setup

Looks like the picture on the right shows that there is no grouping of episodes of a series. On the left, does the number in the lower right show the number of episodes inside tht icon?

yes that number represents the grouped episodes in that folder. That's the default display with the giant folder icons grouping episodes of a series when possible.

Also, in the menu on the right, you can hit YELLOW button and sort it by episode #. That's one thing that my 722Ks didn't have that I can't live without now that I have 3 Hoppers.

I was concerned since in another thread it was said that there was a 5 folder limit.

The picture on the right is what you see if you click on an icon with multiple episodes. You have to have selected group by title for this particular grouping.
