I need some help. I would like to have 6 receivers at my house...or at least 4. I currently have a Dish 500 and it has the Large LNB with only 2 wires coming off of it. Currently I have only 2 receivers installed...and they just take one wire each. Is there a way to install 6 or at least four without installing a separate dish? Do I need to change out the LNB? Please be basic in your answers, as I am pretty clueless. Thanks so much!

You will need a DP34 or DPP44 switch. Either switch will take the two output from the LNB and distribute it to four receivers. If you want six receivers you will need two switches(they can be daisy chained)

If that "Large LNB" is a legacy Twin, it will have to be replaced. You will likely end up with one of the configurations described by wied and RandallA.

to figure out if you have DishPro equipment, just go look at the dish, on the side of the LNB facing out, if it's DishPro it will say so, if it's legacy, it will probably that the Dish Network logo on it

You can also look on your Check Switch screen - it will say "DP" something if it's DishPro gear.

As for what you will REALLY need - that depends on factors unknown to us - posters above have given some possibilities, but there's MANY other options.

For example, if you really only need four TUNERS instead of RECEIVERS, than a pair of x2x (322/522/625/921) or 942 boxes hooked to a DPPlus-Twin LNB using DPP Separators will do the job. Note that the 721 can NOT be used - E* hasn't added the software for DPP-Twin yet.

How many receivers are possible on one account?
