Michael Dell investment fund posts Echostar stake

The investment fund that manages assets of computer pioneer Michael Dell reported a 6.1 percent stake in EchoStar Corp., according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In a filing late Friday, MSD Capital LP disclosed that it owns 2.6 million shares of EchoStar, which was spun off on Jan. 1 from Dish Network Corp. and holds the set-top box operations and satellite assets of the satellite TV operator.
